For me it meant I could think about foods I like without having to have them. Proof: nine of ten peanut butter cups from my mother-in-law have sat untouched since Easter. Telling mouth hunger apart from actual hunger took some learning. I kept checking whether I still wanted snacks, and it seemed I did, until I realized that whenever I was busy with other things and not focused on food, it wasnt bothering me. A craving also needed far less to be satisfied (5 fries, 5 chips, a piece or two of chocolate) when I gave in. The old pattern, a thought then a need to devour all of it at once, disappeared. Nine months on, the suppression has faded somewhat, yet Tirz continues to put me in charge of my cravings instead of the other way around.
