This has been a wild year. Around mid-2024, my body just kinda gave up from fighting various chronic issues (celiac, hemochromatosis, PCOS, post-hysterectomy hormones, and lingering concussion issues). I'm only 43! Post-surgery, nothing I did seemed to work. I was eating really well and used to compete in strength sports, so it was super frustrating. The bloating, aches, hormones, tiredness—I was just done.

I began taking a semaglutide med around January of 2025. Went from about 225 to 185 or so by summer, then kinda stalled. I felt pretty good, but the side effects got bad, so I switched to a tirzepatide one in October 2025. I'm now down to 159 and feeling great! No icky nausea!

I got back into CrossFit this month, my bloodwork is great, and I can actually keep up with my four kids. Best choice ever.

Stats:
Semaglutide Jan '25-Oct '25—1mg dose
Tirzepatide Oct '25-now—5mg dose
Started—230lbs/size 14/XL
Now—159lbs/size 2/S

You look incredible! I was in a similar boat. I do crossfit too, and strength competitions....I've always had great muscle tone. But then perimenopause showed up in my late 40s. Also, I have some autoimmune issues. I was exercising like always and eating healthy. Nothing changed!!! I used to be around 130 pounds. I went up to like 160 and felt awful since I was doing all the right things. I started a semaglutide med in July and I'm now back to 130 this month. Now I'm just trying to build up my strength... trying to get enough protein.

Such a big accomplishment! You look amazing! How long did it take? How did you deal with any side effects?

Wow congrats, I aspire to you!
I'm nearly in the same situation re: age and weight, and probably height. I've just started like three months ago and already lost 30!
