One year on GLP-1s!

Wow, time flies! I realized I kicked this off right before last year's Halloween. A whole year of tirzepatide, then tirz with Reta, then just Reta, then back to tirz and now tirz with survodutide. Started around 275-285ish, hard to say exactly. Now I'm hovering around 204, so roughly 75 pounds gone in a year? That's about 1.44 pounds a week. I'll take it!

Interesting journey you've had. I saw you mentioned Reta didn't work well by itself? I haven't really heard of that. And now tirz and survodutide? I've heard of survodutide. What does it do for you *with* the tirz, and what made you stop tirz at first if it was helping?

So, [@Erin_62] the survodutide seems to be helping with some of the appetite suppression that faded a bit with the tirz. I stopped tirz to try Reta alone, hoping for even better results, but it didn't pan out for me.

Congrats on hitting your goal, True-Happy! Have you started thinking about maintenance yet, or are you staying at your current dose for a while?

Thanks! [@Care_Free731] I'm thinking about staying put for the holidays, given how tempting everything is. Then maybe titrate down in the new year. It's a bit scary!

I agree with [@Care_Free731] – maintenance is key! I've been focusing on strength training to maintain muscle mass. It's not just about the weight, but also about overall health and bone density.

I've been following groups online about these meds for a while now. The dumb stuff people do with them is wild.

I bet a lot of people suing messed up somehow or ignored side effects.

Like, I saw one lady who ended up in the ER after passing out from throwing up. She admitted she was eating like nothing for 2 months and still kept taking the shot. Another lady kept taking her shots even though she was having bad stomach problems... because she was losing weight!

Month 4 and 39.9 lbs between tirz and reta together is real momentum. Adding reta at 2 months in and seeing it hold through the combination is a good sign for how the stack is working. The resting heart rate drop is one of those side effects people do not expect and then cannot stop talking about.

The random weeping side effect is one of the stranger ones and shows up more than expected in long-term threads. The emotional processing piece that seems to unlock while GLP-1 effects are active is genuinely interesting and not well explained. Boo hiss is the right energy for when it catches you off guard.

Watched a couple family members and a few friends rebound after losing weight on Tirz. Knew going in that if I started GLPs, I'd have to sign up for staying the course over several years, since I began with close to 100 pounds I wanted gone. Realistically 75 might do it, but my head keeps drifting back to that round figure, 90 total. Just past the five-month mark and down 30. Taking the low-and-gradual route is supposed to work out better, but staying patient through it is honestly rough! Hoping for another 30 gone by Christmas, though I could probably reach the whole 60 within half a year if I really cranked things up. Bottom line, I'm not going anywhere, and it doesn't bother me sticking with a couple milligrams weekly or twice weekly for as long as it takes to land at a healthy weight and hold it there.

Week twenty-five landed at 225.0 on 10mg, week twenty-six came in at 223.0.

Kicked off a 25-day Epitalon run, 1mg nightly an hour before bed. Coming off the KLOW and Semax combo seems to have nudged the stall loose a bit.

This week marks six months on GLP-1 treatment for me. Officially 41 pounds lighter (15.5% of where I started) and doing better across nearly every measure. Decided to push my target down to at least 210 (originally aimed for 220) and probably won't touch any other major changes to my routine until getting there.

Also saw a new primary care doctor recently. Turns out shedding 40 pounds plus all the lifestyle work behind it brought my testosterone up from 229 to 465, genuinely great outcome. Every other lab came back excellent too, cholesterol normal, metabolic markers solid. He also somehow talked my insurer into authorizing branded Zepbound for me, marking week one on that front. Sticking with 10mg through at least week twenty-nine, then following up about possibly stepping to 12.5. Can always lean on other compounds if another stall hits.

For plenty of people, this drug class ends up being a lifetime medication, definitely the case here. Some people stay right at their last effective dose, others taper down gradually. Sure plenty stop entirely too, but that's not the plan here. Genuinely love not dealing with food noise anymore, plus there's the cardiovascular upside. No real issue with alcohol before, but there's something satisfying about how little interest there is in drinking now. Also seems to calm some compulsive tendencies too.

Just in case future policy shifts or supply disruptions ever make getting this at a reasonable cost harder, keeping a decent supply on hand feels reassuring. Gives peace of mind that whatever happens down the road, access to this genuinely life-changing medication stays secure.
