Oral GLP-1 coming soon?!

So, Eli Lilly is aiming for FDA approval for an oral weight loss med before the year ends, based on their phase 3 trial results. Apparently, a pill showed significant weight loss. Here's a link to the article:

It seems like it'll be pretty effective, though maybe not quite as potent as tirzepatide. But it should be a lot easier to manufacture in large quantities compared to the injectable GLP-1s. One person even thinks it might be cheaper, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm guessing a lot of people who are afraid of needles will be all over this.

I'm skeptical. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide work so well, why bother with a new one? Unless they're trying to make it seem better than the current injectables that are easy to fake and sell illegally. Why fix something that works?

I'd much rather do a weekly shot than take a pill every single day. Especially since this one needs to be taken on an empty stomach and you have to wait half an hour before eating or drinking anything. Waiting for my coffee is a no-go.

Oh yeah, like Levothyroxine, which millions use, suggests (or even requires) that empty stomach and waiting thing too. But I definitely dont wait...

They're obviously targeting the other half of the population who won't inject, and they'll eat this up. Market share, baby!

Interesting. I saw a video where two doctors were discussing the pros and cons of these weight loss drugs. They emphasized that they're really for people with serious health issues related to their weight, not just for cosmetic reasons. They can be effective, but there are definitely risks to consider.

I read that this orforglipron lowered A1C by an average of 1.3% to 1.6% in trials, and people lost about 8% of their weight. Those seem like solid numbers.

When I was on just semaglutide I had constant bad migraines. Someone mentioned glutathione helped theirs so I tried 1000mg orally and it killed the migraines plus gave me energy and better mood. Then discovered grey peptides and got even better results pinning 200-300mg daily with vitamin C. When injectable isn't available 1500mg oral works similar. Just started needing a break from it though.

The R140 caution is worth taking seriously - new compounds with different potency profiles are where people get in trouble because they dose based on what they know from something else. Cheaper isn't the same as easier to use correctly.
