Ozempic: Celebrating Progress 💪

Body image is a trip. I was looking at a photo from about a year ago, when I began my weight-loss attempts. Post-cancer treatment, I put on around 40 pounds from hormone treatments and peaked at 210. I worked hard from last January to October, getting down to 194 on my own, but my blood sugar was still high and my cholesterol was concerning. My doctor suggested Ozempic, and I went for it, and I've managed to shed another 15 pounds since October. I'm only on 0.5mg because I didn't want rapid loss due to loose skin fears, so it's about a pound per week. I haven't stalled yet, although I had a couple of weeks with no loss, but also no gain. Plus, I broke my kneecap in late November, so I haven't been able to walk for two months. Anyway, I'm still happy with my progress, and seeing myself a year ago makes me want to celebrate!

Keep going, you look amazing!
Thanks! I'm impressed with your gradual approach. I just started four days ago and am also going low and slow. Did you experience any bothersome side effects at the 0.5 dose?

Body dysmorphia is definitely a thing. I've dropped about 115 pounds. I can obviously see the change in photos, but I still feel like I look heavy. I still think people are staring at me because of my weight. I still see small spaces and think I won't fit. I'm hoping this fades over time!

Congrats on your weight loss! I'm on Ozempic too, and I've lost somewhere between 66 and 70lbs. My target is 120, and I'm hovering around 125-130 depending on the scale. My doctor's scale says 125, mine says 129. I started in November of last year.

You look amazing. I'm taking it slow as well, but I can feel the changes in my body. My horrible knee pain decreased by maybe 75 percent after my initial injection. It's like it had an anti-inflammatory effect on my joints. A surprise, but welcome!

Amen to that. I'm looking at body slimmers to help with loose skin. Has anyone tried them? I've heard Skims, Knix, and Spanx are good.

I've heard good things about Honeylove and Shapermint. But are you trying to suck in fat or loose skin?

I'm curious if anyone has experienced mood changes after starting Mounjaro or Ozempic? I've been feeling irritable since starting.
