Ozempic journey - don't give up!

Hey, I'm at a similar point. If you don't mind, did you deal with loose skin around your upper body or stomach?

Look, wanting something and actually getting it are totally different things. None of us want to inject ourselves forever, but we're coming to terms with maybe needing to do exactly that. Real talk, if my choice is take these shots or gain it all back, I'm taking the shots. If life throws a curveball and the supply dries up, we do the best we can and roll with whatever happens.

Getting a Dexa scan or bioelectrical impedance could help nail down if you're actually at a healthy weight in terms of body fat percentage. Not the only thing to think about, but solid info to have. Good luck on the path forward.

Was in the exact same spot. 49, size 2/4, eat pretty clean, crossfit 4–5 times. Post-COVID breakup, gained quick from 130 to 160. Started this med 6 months ago and I'm down to 125, size 0. Not eating nearly as strict as before either. First couple months no appetite, little constipation. Sometimes get lightheaded in the morning if I jump up fast.

Facebook and Reddit are basically anti-reality. Gonna find out in real life what happens—not too worried. I know a couple people, one's a doc, who never went to max dose. They coast and pin when they feel like it. Doc and I started the same, similar loss, but he's softer tissue, doesn't do outdoor work. Best part? I can stretch 30 days into 120 days and dial the dose as I go.

Non-responder on Ozempic here too and switched to another brand that finally kicked in - sleep got better which was huge. Reta's still being tested but don't give up on finding your match. Took me longer but the right compound does exist. Mounjaro helped when the first one didn't.

The BD needles are the most commonly preferred here for comfort. The Easy Touch variance in feel is real - some people notice it immediately while others adapt after a few uses. Gauge and tip bevel account for most of the difference. At 4mm the Easy Touch should be comparable but the manufacturing consistency between brands does vary.

The 15mg weekly regimen from 250 to 158 is about as well-documented as these journeys get. The last 9 lbs to 149 from a 92 lb drop should be methodical rather than frustrating - the closer you get to goal, the smaller the deficit the body allows. Most people in that range find that adding small resistance training sessions accelerates the final segment better than dose adjustment does.

The protein bar habit is the right instinct - something portable in the morning before appetite suppression takes over is exactly how to keep protein intake consistent.

Once you've checked in, you're already ahead of where most people stop - the thread is there for exactly this. Good luck with the dose escalation.

250 to 158 since June 2024 on 15mg is a strong outcome - height determines what the target actually means for your frame.
