OK, so a year ago, May 2nd, 2024, I was 252 pounds with a body composition of 53% lean mass. Fast forward to today, May 2nd, 2025, and I'm weighing in at 172 pounds with 74% lean mass.
A year ago, walking to the mailbox left me breathless. Now, I hit the gym for an hour of weights and then went on a 4 mile hike this afternoon. It's unreal.
I've also stopped taking statins and blood pressure meds, my A1C is down to 5.1 from 7.3, I've kicked my alcohol habit (a big deal for me), and I've quit smoking (!!)
My next goal is to get my lean body mass up to 80-85%. And I'm playing a little game with my weight... my insurance cuts me off at 155, so I'm aiming for 158, haha. I've got maybe 8-10 pounds of loose skin to remove, so I'm almost there!
The loose skin is a pain. I peaked around 290 pounds, I'm 52 now, and I've been over 250 for most of the last 30 years. My arms are the worst... I'm living in elbow-length tees these days. But I'm getting my arms and neck done on May 27th! Stomach in the fall, maybe my thighs too.
This has been an incredible ride and I'm excited for the next year!
