Story Time:
In 2020, the birth control switcheroo hit me hard. Gained like 50 pounds! Managed to shed some after stopping the generic in 2021, but spent the next couple years up and down between 190-210 lbs. Tried everything – workouts, salads, even Metformin (online, shhh!) and Phentermine from a clinic. Phentermine was a nightmare, so I chatted with my doc. She suggested Ozempic, and luckily, insurance said yes.

Started Ozempic in January '24, and I'm down around 50 lbs, slow but steady at about 0.5-1 lb a week. Been on the max 2 mg dose for about 4 months now.

My Plan:
Slow and steady wins the race, right? Less loose skin, more long-term success. Aiming for 1,500 cals a day, since I wanna eventually stop the meds.

Weight History:
18 years old: 208 lbs
25 years old: 155 lbs
36 years old (now): 158 lbs
My weight's always been a rollercoaster, so my body's kinda used to it. And no kids yet, btw.

Tough journey, but feeling healthier and more confident!

You look incredible!!!!! Question for you - I put on about 50 pounds after having 3 kids in quick succession. I’ve been taking Ozempic for about 4 months and have lost around 35 pounds. This week I’m going from 1 mg to 2 mg. So far, side effects haven’t been too bad (slowly increasing from .25, then .50, and now 1.0). Did you have any bad side effects when you moved up to 2.0? Like you, I’m losing weight gradually and am happy. Hoping to reach my goal weight by spring. You’ve really inspired me!!

Saving this for inspo! My body is pretty similar to your before photo. I've always been pretty athletic. I was wondering if you were too, to see if these are achievable goals for me.

I stumbled across this other thread where the person said their doctor told them they were basically on death's door. They weighed over 300lbs in 2018 and eventually got on Mounjaro. Now they work out six days a week. Pretty inspiring!

Thankfully, I didn't have any *new* side effects when I went up to 2mg. Just the same mild nausea I'd already been experiencing. Good luck!

It's really interesting how these meds can change people's lives. I saw someone online mention that after losing a significant amount of weight, their mobility improved so much that they finally felt comfortable going to the gym. It's a positive cycle!
