Ozempic's workin', but what to eat?

Hey all! I've had some good results with Ozempic, lost about 25 lbs in half a year. But I've noticed food is different now. Sometimes, I just don't feel like eating or I'm queasy, so I skip meals or just snack. I felt pretty weak and realized I wasn't getting the right stuff. I found some easy meal replacements with good protein that are easy on my stomach and keep me going. What's been working for you guys?

My body put its foot down, lol. No more junk food or big portions. I'm focusing on lean meats and veggies. After about 6 months, I slowly added back tiny amounts of potatoes, pasta, and rice, because I was craving them. Bread is still a no-go if it's in the house. My advice is, don't keep tempting foods where you can grab them!

I learned that the hard way too! Maybe it was mentioned by my doctor but I don't remember. The way you eat changes big time. Fried or super processed foods gave me terrible gas, made me throw up and just made me feel bad.

I noticed that beef and greasy or spicy foods don't agree with my stomach anymore.

Switched to fish mostly and my side effects went away. It made me rethink my diet, that's for sure!

Just started Zepbound a few days ago on the lowest dose. So far, so good. I don't feel *disgusted* by food, but I don't have those hunger pangs either. I eat my normal meals but watch the portion sizes. Feeling satisfied and in control. It's like the 'food noise' is gone, and I'm definitely focusing on more protein.

So, I started keto *before* Ozempic to get my blood sugar under control. Dropped 100 lbs, but my A1C was still high. Then, the meds came in. After that, it was basically salads, lean protein, shakes, and bars. I really stuck to 30g net carbs a day for a year while on the medication. I also hit the gym 6-7 days a week with hiking, rucking, and boot camp workouts. I really needed to up my protein and fats. I lost another 60 lbs.

My A1C hit 5.0 while on the shots. Since stopping, I've been mainly keto-vore, and it went down to 4.6, plus I gained 10 lbs of muscle. On the shot, my appetite was still there, but I made better choices.

I used to love cookies, cake, donuts, ice cream... all that junk. The cravings are totally gone now. I’ve been off for a year, and I have no desire to eat that now. I love chocolate and will have a little every once in a while, but I'm satisfied after just a bit.

If I want something sweet, I'll eat some high-fat Greek yogurt with allulose or even butter. It seems the meds did some sort of reset in my brain. I honestly love to work out and be outside instead of sitting on my butt and stuffing my face with junk food. Hope this helps.

I started at 375 lbs, unable to do any real exercise. I got down to 213 and was gassed doing push-ups and couldn't do any pull-ups. Now I'm 220 and in the best shape of my life at 49 years old.

I feel your pain! I had a bad experience with gastric sleeve. Had a whole plan and recipe book for getting better. But my body freaked out and rejected basically everything. I was constantly nauseous and vomiting. Lost weight, but was miserable for years and couldn't change. I could only eat/drink very few things, not all healthy. Couldn't even drink water sometimes! Eventually, I lived off deli meats and hospital-grade liquid food. My cholesterol went through the roof. After 3 years, I could slowly eat again, but my body packed on weight fast, even on a low-calorie diet. I've been losing very slowly since then, and it's a struggle. It taught me that I only lose weight when I'm starving, which is messed up.

I tried Wegovy this year, but it didn't work. I hope you have better luck!

I've been drinking ginger tea every morning for nausea. Also, small portions of fruits, shakes, and protein drinks. When I felt better, started eating clean: salads, grilled chicken, yogurt, and nuts. Still small portions, but they're nutritious and give me energy!

I used my reduced appetite as an opportunity. I made a food routine and schedule. I think I've made healthy habits that will stay with me after I stop using Wegovy. Almost at my target weight, and my doctor doesn't think I need to be on this forever.

Ozempic helps control how much we eat. I drink warm lemon/honey water in the morning. Then fruit and nuts, sometimes bread with yogurt and avocado for breakfast. I try to stick to a healthy diet during the day. Ginger tea and anti-nausea pills for the nausea.

I still drink diet soda, no problem. But now I burp like Homer Simpson. Loud and long.
Carbonated drinks might be a trigger for reflux or discomfort for some people on these meds. Pay attention to your body!
