Pep Sterility Fails - Big Deal?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
I've got a bunch of this batch of MIX. Vacuum sealed with those desiccant packs in the freezer. When I get to them way later, I'll just mix and filter and start researching, and will probably have forgotten about this thread.

Unexpected chemicals would be found with GCMS, not HPLC. HPLC purity just looks at the band for what you're testing. You could have a vial mostly full of cleaning stuff but still get 99% purity on HPLC.

Yeah, I've been researching it. Once my rat adjusted, I tweaked the dose. It's 4 parts tirz and 1 part reta, plus 10% extra. Appetite is good. After being stuck for a month on tirz, this kicked off some more weight loss. Checking glucose daily - no issues. Happy rat.

I saw someone mention acute reactions to peps. Happened to me once. Tried a tiny bit of something, and felt like I had the flu within minutes. MS/UV showed 99% purity. I'm now much more careful.

grab sterile water or saline for injection—brand name if you can. you've got a solid month, maybe even 8 weeks according to some experts, though they won't officially say so. doesn't matter what anyone else tells you about two-week limits.

the issue is ph. mixing two vials of the same med is fine, same ph. but blending different things? they probably won't match and you risk damaging one or both. reconstituting all the peptides separately then mixing into one vial also doesn't work because of ph issues.

Can't hurt to be precise but 1% works fine. This is how Pfizer describes it: sterile, nonpyrogenic water with 0.9% (9 mg/mL) or 1.1% (11 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol as preservative. Multiple-dose container for repeated withdrawals. pH between 4.5 and 7.0. Right in the middle, easy to dose. Talked to several others and they all go 1%.

the 'research use only' label is the manufacturer's legal cover, not an actual quality standard for how most people are using the product. accepting a lower sterility bar with that framing understates the real risk - injection into subcutaneous tissue bypasses the mucous membrane and skin barriers that catch a lot of the pathogens that lax sterility introduces. the grey is real but so are the consequences

You genuinely can't confirm whether earlier batches labeled sterile actually were, since only around 0.001% of any given batch gets tested. Realistically, those batches, like the vast majority out there, were probably never truly sterile to begin with.

The group testing looked at how freeze/thaw affects reconstituted peps over time, tirz alongside two or three others went in one test and reta in another. Tirz lost almost no mass, reta lost a bit, likely enough that you would not want to give up that lost effect. That leaves sterility and endotoxins, which nobody tested. People speculate about alcohol separating irreversibly when frozen, and about frozen vials damaging their seals, though I'm skeptical. Don't expect consensus on anything here, everyone has to settle on a comfort level and own their risks, even when weighing Big Pharma or surgery from a board-certified MD of your own.

I'd sooner take my chances with premade bac water since it's sterile and I haven't seen any test of it failing. Injectable sterile water at pharma grade works too. I don't think people trust homebrew water, and water is most of what you inject. Mixing your own bac on a dining room table will never be sterile, period. Aseptic technique reduces contamination, but it falls far short of pharma level. I wouldn't even pour sterile water into a glass bottle. If you have sterile water, add the BA straight in and then don't touch it, since fewer steps mean fewer chances to fail. The either-or attitude baffles me too, reputable options for proper bac water do exist.

Well, either way they lose their sterility the moment kitchen air gets pumped in lol. Still, useful info. Some vials are sterile, maybe most of them. Even so, nearly all peptide users skip filtering and don't end up with serious bacterial infections, and surely plenty of them have injected from non-sterile vials.
