Pounds gone, fingers... not so much!

I'm down 160+ pounds! Still got a ways to go, but I'm getting there. Everything's shrinking – went from a size 22/24 to a 10/12, shoes from a 10/11 to an 8/9. Even my bra size changed! But man, these fingers?!?

My partner and I are thinking about rings, and I was hoping my ring size would change... but I'm still a 10. It's been a 10 the whole time. It feels a little looser, but not enough to resize. Anyone else lose a ton of weight but not in their hands? I don't want to wait much longer, but knowing my luck, the second I say I'm a size 10, they'll shrink, and the ring will be too big!

It'll happen, I swear! My fingers were so slow to change, haha... But it's coming! You look great!

I shed about 85 pounds and stayed there for almost a year. It was like six months AFTER hitting that point that my fingers finally got smaller! Went from a 10 to a 7.5. Crazy since I had size 10 fingers since middle school!

Like Kelly14 said, it'll come. I was stuck wearing an 11 when I'm normally an 8. I'm down 90 pounds, and my size 8 rings finally fit again.

You could look at antique rings with an open band. They're more forgiving for bigger fingers. Ring adjusters can help too. I have some custom-made ones to make a ring bigger when my fingers swell or smaller on normal days.

Congrats on the weight loss! Keep in mind that some people naturally have larger or smaller fingers, so don't worry too much about losing weight. I've weighed anywhere from 140 to almost 300 pounds, and my ring size never changed, although it got a little tighter toward the end of my last pregnancy!

Enjoy the finger size! You're young, so your body's flexible and has muscle. Little kids have chubby fingers because they're young. I'm older now and look like I crawled out of my grave. I lost muscle and my skin got super thin. I see your fingers! They're cute! Besides, bigger fingers need bigger diamonds! Congrats on your journey! You look awesome!!!

Hi! I just started taking semaglutide! How long until you noticed a difference? Any helpful tips and tricks? I'm planning to hit the gym and stick to a diet, of course, but is there anything else I should know?

Wow, @Kelly14, 85 pounds is a BIG accomplishment! I've been trying to get back in shape myself and am down about 40, but I'm also trying to focus on strength training this time. Did you do anything specific for exercise?

For anyone struggling with hair loss from rapid weight loss (I know it's a common side effect), consider looking into collagen supplements! I've heard good things about them for hair and skin health. Also, be sure you're getting enough protein to help maintain muscle mass. It's so important especially as we age.

I remember someone saying they stayed on lower doses of sema longer to reduce side effects. Makes sense. It's all about finding what works best for you and minimizing any discomfort. Slow and steady wins the race!

What an accomplishment! I'm wrapping up year one on Mounjaro soon and hit very similar marks. This drug let me believe in myself again - that health was actually achievable. Working out way more regularly, eating better, staying consistent both ways. Mental side got better too. Divorce stuff is rough but I'm genuinely at peace now. Just hoping the progress sticks.

Congratulations on such a solid year! A lot has shifted for me too since starting Mounjaro, and like you I feel like I can actually be healthy again. Working out six days a week now and eating clean consistently, which I've never managed before. My mental state is so much better, and honestly that matters more than the number on the scale. Hoping this keeps working the way it has been.
