Protein is Key!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
With the food noise gone, my eating has gotten far better. Since 200 is my target weight, I'm aiming for 200 grams of protein daily, largely eggs and meat. My carbs are veggies, salads and fruit, plus a bit of potato or rice now and then. Sweets don't tempt me. Yogurt and dairy are included too. Processed food is being phased out. The pre-dinner McDonald's run is over lol. Never before have I stuck to eating only my BMR this cleanly for so long. Feels too easy.

Protein is something I really need to work on, big issue for me. I'll give this a try, tracking it seems easy enough.

A few tips that worked for me, and I skip dairy entirely. Aiming at lots of protein, I've learned it works best to load up on fiber too, since fibrous foods help with GI trouble such as constipation. Dieters often lean on bowl-style meals because they're simple to portion and prepare. The big upgrade is swapping rice for quinoa, a complete protein and 'superfood' with more protein, fiber and overall nutrition than rice. It goes with anything you'd eat rice with, cooks faster and easier, and keeps longer in the fridge. Costco prices on it are shockingly low. Come the weekdays, I start meal prep by batch-cooking quinoa and assembling bowls around it.
