Raw onions & constipated... ugh!

Hey everyone! I'm about 8 weeks in, currently on 0.5mg. For about a month and a half I could only deal with diarrhea, so my diet was only cooked foods and bananas. Now, all of a sudden, I can't seem to poop. For two weeks now. So I thought, "Oh, why not have onions! My favorite thing." Oh boy, just a tiny sprinkle of raw onions on my salad (like, 3 tiny pieces), and I've got horrible sulfur burps for 48 hours, but I'm still backed up. I'm hoping to get things moving again with fiber instead of using meds. But considering I've had bad breath since day one, I'm staying away from uncooked stuff, especially veggies. Are fiber gummies my best bet? And will I ever be able to enjoy a salad again?

Have like, 4-5 dried plums daily and you'll be good to go. It's wild how many times I've suggested this lately on this forum, lol.

I find Metamucil works. I mix a tablespoon with water and drink it at bedtime, and I typically have a bowel movement the next day. If I miss a dose, it sets me back for a few days.

Based on some studies I saw from people on Ozempic, I have a 6 oz glass of warm water in the morning with about a teaspoon of psyllium fiber (started with 1/2 tsp). I also drink water all day long. It's been working well. I've even put about 1/8 of a teaspoon of it in my dog's food since he's a bit constipated too, and it's helped him. BTW raw onions give me horrible heartburn now. Good luck!

I've been having the same problem lately. I'm taking 5 fiber pills, 3 times per day. So far, it's not helping at all. I'm lucky if I have a bowel movement once a week.

I've realized that no one has mentioned fiber pills. Is there a reason? Should I be taking the powder instead? I have a sensitive stomach, and the powder makes me feel sick and often makes me throw up.

I've heard some people on semaglutide get sulfur burps. Maybe that's what you experienced after the onions, Pip_82. Some of them say it goes away after a while on the medication.

Hmm, good to know! Maybe I'll try a *tiny* bit of cooked onion in a week or two and see what happens.

I've been burping like crazy since starting this med! Anyone else?? I'm on week 8 now. It's really annoying when I'm out with friends!

the 7.5 jump was brutal for me — three months of bad burps, stomach pain, diarrhea. thought i was done but stuck with it. 10mg was way easier. now on 12.5 with just constipation and rashes at the shot site. if you can hang in there, do it.

With less eating and 7.5mg, why's your loss slow? Asking because I'm stuck at 10mg—no nausea but can only stomach two small meals. Why the slowdown on both ends?
