I just discussed this with my doctor. He said that these meds are different from Keto, where weight loss continues. As your body finds its equilibrium, the med will help to maintain that weight. For patients on higher doses (I'm fine on .25), he gradually reduces it to .25. Then, for me (in about 15 more lbs), we'll extend the interval from once a week to every 10 to 14 days. Since I'm using it for T2, he wants me to stay on it permanently. My A1c went from 8.1 to 5.8.
He suggested increasing fat intake, like avocados. Adding butter/cream from grass-fed cows. Choosing full-fat yogurt/cottage cheese. Choosing fattier meats (chicken thighs instead of breasts). The portion sizes stay the same, but the calorie count increases.
Congrats!!
