Reta Fatigue - Anyone Else?

I've been on Retatrutide for about 9 weeks now and the scale is moving! I know some muscle is probably going with the weight, it's a trade-off I'm okay with for now. To give you some background, I started at a really low dose - 0.5mg/week - and I'm now injecting 2mg/week, split into two doses (Mon/Thurs). Down about 18 pounds so far.

My issue is how my strength training is going. I wouldn't say I lift super heavy, but I've noticed a big dip in both the weight I can lift and how many reps I can do. I'm probably down like 15% on both. Anyone else dealing with this?

I think I'm getting enough protein (around 90g) and carbs, so it's not a fuel issue. I've tweaked my diet a bit based on what I've read here.

I've also been looking at stuff to help with energy at the cellular level, like SS-31 and MOTS-C. I've also read about growth hormone peptides like Tesamorelin. I'm not taking any of those yet, but I'm considering it. I'd rather try lifestyle changes first, if possible.

I'd love to hear what others have experienced and any tips you might have!

Muscles need glycogen for energy. People on low-calorie or keto diets often report similar drops in stamina as their bodies switch to burning fat. I never used GLP-1 before.

I cycle a lot and was doing 15-20 miles most days, but I definitely felt a difference once I started reta. Some days, it was a real struggle to do even 10 miles. It's slowly getting better, though. It might be in my head, but it feels like the energy is coming from a different source, something less intense. I used to grab a pastry or bagel with peanut butter before rides for that carb rush, but now I try not to.

Yeah, I'm having the same issues. I only made it 40 minutes at the gym yesterday, and I was wiped out the rest of the day. I just started CJC-1295 + Ipa today, hoping it helps.

Hi everyone! I'm new to all of this. I've been on a low dose of Ozempic for a few weeks, and I haven't lost much weight at all, maybe a pound or two! I haven't been exercising either, and I snack at night because I feel psychological hunger. I'm wondering if anyone has lost weight without working out?

It's definitely possible to lose weight without exercise, especially at first. But from what I've read, moving more helps you keep muscle, which is important. I'd suggest talking to your doctor if you're concerned.

I saw a post where someone lost a bunch of weight in the beginning just from being on a GLP-1. Then, when they started exercising, the weight loss slowed down a bit. So maybe it'll work differently for you.

I know someone who's been on Ozempic for 2 years and goes to the gym 6 days a week. They said it changed their life! It's inspiring.

Quit obsessing over peptide stuff I can't control. Now I'm figuring out how many freezers run on one circuit.

Elevated RHR and maxHR that you can't feel subjectively during activity or recovery is the favorable version of the Reta cardiac response - the values shift but performance and tolerance don't. Maintaining high-intensity output while both metrics are elevated is the meaningful confirmation.

The RHR increase combined with apixaban use is the specific combination worth flagging explicitly to your prescribing physician - apixaban dosing is sensitive to changes in cardiac function, and the interaction picture at Reta doses is a clinical question your doctor should weigh in on.

Currently at 3mg reta and 4mg tirzepatide. Steady 2 pounds a week. Hitting my strength goals most weeks, but protein's falling short - that's where I'm putting my focus next.

Same boat entirely. Reta genuinely amplified my trouble getting started on things, enough that roughly half my scheduled training sessions got skipped. Fair to say focusing at my office job already gave me trouble before any of this, but I basically never bailed on an early workout, mostly because I go to bed already dressed for the gym and I'm moving before my brain's alert enough to argue me out of it.

Just hit round four of Teso a few hours ago. Residual amounts from Saturday's dose apparently carried me through a productive day yesterday, covered five miles running before noon and tackled kitchen cleanup later on.

Ran Reta again yesterday morning, and it's becoming clear I'll need to plan my Teso timing with more precision going forward. Still waiting for today's dose to take hold.

Week nine here, only on the third dose of a small amount. Debilitating fatigue's been the main struggle from day one, carried through the earlier lower doses too. This week's the first time feeling even semi-functional. Frustrating since only a modest amount's come off in nine weeks despite lifting three times weekly. Personally not moving the dose up again until this fatigue eases regardless. Slow progress is fine as long as muscle mass holds, though faster would be nice. Age might be a factor here too.
