Reta messing with my sleep??

So, I've been on reta since mid-November, going from 2mg to 8mg now. I've dropped around 18lbs, aiming for maybe 28 more. Before this, I did strict carnivore for about half a year, then ketovore for another half, and lost like 65lbs total. My Garmin usually gives me a sleep score of 70-80, but since starting reta, it's been more like 50-60, and my training status is always low. Anyone else having this?

I'm only a week in, and I'm constantly waking up during the night. But I feel okay, because not eating junk and drinking less alcohol kinda makes up for it. I figured the insomnia would go away, but your sleep hasn’t improved after months?

This is interesting. I haven’t seen many posts about increased energy, but that's what I'm experiencing along with waking up a bunch. Been on it for about a month and at 4mg weekly. I’m in a small calorie deficit, so down around 6 pounds. Falling asleep is easy, but then I wake up after like 4 hours and then my sleep is all broken up. Maybe 6 total hours. But once I’m awake, I’m AWAKE. I feel like I drank a Red Bull, lol. I’ve stopped taking pre workout and I'm fine at the gym. Just a lot more energy even with the sleep issues.

Anyone else like this? Not complaining, but it was unexpected. Most people seem to be tired.

Also, my triglycerides are better. They were already low because of a statin, but in the last month, they went from 50 to 12. LDL went down too.

My sleep is terrible. But I don’t know if it’s the Reta's fault. I've been out of work with a hamstring injury, so my sleep is messed up anyway. The first few weeks I was peeing every hour throughout the night. I think that's why I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks – just water weight. I was doing nothing except peeing all day and night.

Yeah,

It could be blood sugar related? When you're eating less, your blood sugar can drop overnight and wake you up.
that makes sense. I try to have a protein shake before bed to help stabilize things.

I've heard that growth hormone treatments can affect sleep, both good and bad. So maybe the Reta is impacting your GH levels and messing with your sleep. Just a thought.

I tried a higher dose of Ipamorelin before bed once, and it gave me the worst sleep ever. Felt like I had way too much caffeine. Maybe something similar is happening with your Reta? Try lowering the dose, Nerdy_xx?
