Reta & Mood Swings?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Sorry, this will be long, theres a lot to say. Ive struggled with anhedonia for years, but it worsened over the last year, especially once tirz began at the start of this year. Having dealt with it all my life, here is my advice: 1. Have your hormones checked. If youre female and still menstruating, request complete hormone bloodwork, since perimenopause can begin in your 30s or earlier with any hormonal disturbance, something obesity brings on. If you no longer menstruate, ask about hormone replacement including testosterone. For men, obesity disrupts hormones too and TRT can transform things when its warranted. 2. The top lifestyle change for anhedonia is savoring. Deliberately hunt for anything pleasant, potentially pleasant, or supposedly pleasant, then engage and consciously savor it.

Same for me on tirz, and on reta too though less strongly. I haven't found a way to handle it. You could get an iron panel done too, I turned out anemic and the anemia made the anhedonia worse.

Reta commonly brings anhedonia. Pausing and restarting it is not a great way to run GLPs though. Both topics have been discussed at length.

Bumping this thread because it's interesting. Could ADHD brains be more susceptible to anhedonia? Ours have trouble regulating dopamine and GLPs may change the way that gets handled. Even more annoying, Reta is really muting my ADHD medication. Delay was the thing I'd heard about, yet here it simply weakens them. Considering a switch to Tirzepatide already, since Reta and my ADHD meds both raise heart rate, and I wonder whether that would change how I handle the meds (probably not). After the weight comes off, I hope to find a maintenance dose small enough that my ADHD meds still function while food noise stays quiet.
