Reta Schedule - too much hunger?

Hi everyone - I'm new to this whole GLP-1 thing. I've been on Retatrutide for maybe a month and a half, and I've worked my way up to 1mg every four days. So, if I inject on a Monday, my next shot is on Friday. I've been at this level for about three weeks now.

I've noticed that the day before my next injection (Thursday in the example), my appetite starts to come back pretty strong. It's not out of control, but it's annoying and makes sticking to my plan harder.

I'd rather not boost my total weekly dose because it's actually working pretty well, and I'm consistently losing about a pound each week. But I'm thinking about switching to every three days instead, like Monday and then Thursday. And I'd drop the dose to 0.75mg per injection to keep the weekly amount around 2mg overall.

Any thoughts? Is it weird to have the hunger come back so soon? I thought Reta was supposed to last a full week, so I'm a little surprised. Or is this normal? Thanks!

if hunger timing is the issue, the reta and extended fasting thread is worth a look

Reta might not kill your appetite as much as other GLP-1s. Feeling hunger is not uncommon. But I think it helps us decide whether to actually eat or not, much more than the others.

I didn't love how uneven Reta felt throughout the week, so I inject every five days.

I take 2 mg every 5 days. I still have an appetite, but I feel full much faster. I lift weights 4 times a week and I'm slowly dropping weight – about 1.5 pounds weekly. I hope I'm not losing gains, but I think I'm still building some, too.

I'd like to add some cardio, but work and school are killer right now.

I've gone from 253lbs to 231lbs. I think I could go higher on the dose, but I don't want to while I'm still making progress.

Have you looked into cagrilintide? I was on tirz/Mounjaro for almost a year and got to the highest dose. The appetite suppression wore off, and I've been stuck about 30lbs from my goal since April. I switched to Reta and I'm working my way up... I inject 3mg every 5 days. The hunger control isn't the same as it was when I first started on tirz... so I'm experimenting with cagrilintide. It's changed how I feel about managing my food intake. Do some research and see if it's right for you.

I'm going to Japan tomorrow and totally forgot my Ozempic pen... I'm supposed to start 2mg tomorrow. What should I expect? I'm going to be there for 2 weeks.

Hey @Curious_Lemon_45, since GLP-1s have a long half-life (about six days), you'll have some coverage for the first week. It will be 1/2 as potent the first week and then 1/4 as potent the second week. If you miss more than two weeks, providers usually tell you to lower your dose when you restart. Contact your provider for guidance when you get back. But honestly, it's Japan! Enjoy the food!

I've dropped about 38lbs since January! It may take a while to reach my goal, but this is the 1st program that I’ve been able to maintain for so long. Sticking with it is so hard for me!

Honestly I wouldn't pursue that. When I mentioned XYZ had failed sterility checks, folks said half of all testing shows failures including major pharmaceutical companies. People just accepted it. They're okay sacrificing your safety.

When was the last prosecution for syringes in CA anyway? They literally hand them out to keep people around since nonprofits make like 900k per homeless person. Not exactly stopping the drug flow. Too profitable.

My order from february still isn't here so I just cancelled. Supposed to be $8 but everywhere in canada's out so that's probably standard. Just using amazon water instead. Been lucky not having any infection - the guy who sells it says it's sterile and good for 28 days so if you don't want to pay $25 a bottle that's an option.
