Reta stopped working?!

Ok, so I'm looking for some advice. I started Reta at 2mg a week, didn't feel a thing really. After 3 weeks, I bumped it to 4mg, split into two doses. That's when things started happening; appetite was way down and I dropped about 10 pounds in a month. But at week 3.5, bam, the suppression vanished. I stuck it out for the rest of the month. Now, I'm on 6mg, split into two doses, hoping for a repeat, but nada. Still hungry, the food thoughts are constant. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong? Any help would be great.

Splitting the dose might mean you need more Reta to get the same effect as a single weekly dose if you're trying to lose weight. The half-life is around 6 days. Splitting never gets you to a good level versus a single strong dose. Instead of going higher weekly, try 6mg once a week for a month.

Sema gives the most appetite suppression, in my experience. It sucks recommending something new, but sema is usually affordable. Instead of increasing the Reta (and using it up), try a small dose of sema.

I haven't used it, but lots of people suggest cagrilinitide...or cagri? I always see people suggesting it with Reta. Might be worth looking into.

I'm having the same thing happen at 5mg. It's been a few weeks since I upped the dose, and I still get appetite suppression and I'm still losing weight, but I notice I’m experiencing more food noise; it’s not as good as at the beginning. Should I increase my dose?

Okay, I’m going to try one dose a week and if that doesn’t work....Cag it is! Does anyone have any idea why there is so much confusion with the recon solution? Vinegar??? What is going on?

I can relate Sema_Sister, I've been on sema and then trizepatide since last year. I started at 185 and went down to 169. But now I'm back up to 175, even 178! I'm at the gym, running, and eating healthy. It's frustrating to gain weight when it feels like I've barely lost any in over a year!

What dosage are you currently using? Also consider getting bloodwork done to rule out any other underlying causes. A hormone panel could be insightful too.

I hear you, Sarah30, it can be frustrating when things stall! I started my shots in June. Food noise stopped and the weight came off fast. But since December, the scale has barely moved. I'm at 1mg now. I'm grateful, but it's not as strong as it was before.

I had supply issues mid-cycle and switched pharmacies a couple times too. New place is stable for now, but I keep wondering what will happen next refill. Seems like it keeps helping even after I stop for a bit, and I've really changed how I eat.

Ipamorelin cranked my appetite hard. Thought Retatrutud quit working. But since starting it I'm doing strength work and muscle jumped. Not sure if Ipamorelin and CJC pushed it further.

The anhedonia response on Reta is one of the more consistent side effect patterns - it tends to accumulate rather than appearing immediately, which is why the 4-week washout usually resolves it. The restart strategy with lower-dose increments and a slower titration rate is the main way to avoid hitting the same threshold on the second run.

70 lbs in 3 months and then a complete plateau at month 4 at 8mg is the most dramatic version of the Reta dose ceiling pattern. The mechanism itself still worked for 3 months, which tells you the receptor pathway was active. At that plateau, the question is usually whether there's any mechanism that can continue what Reta started - tirz or sema on top of existing reta is where a lot of people go after this specific scenario.

Starting at 0.5mg and titrating slowly before discovering that splitting the 4mg dose removed the nausea completely is exactly the kind of protocol adjustment that changes the experience. The OP at 2mg not feeling anything yet is still in the early range - the full effect on appetite tends to build over the first 4-6 weeks at a consistent dose. What dose are you recommending as the first step if 2mg weekly isn't hitting?
