Reta working *too* well?

Started on reta about 18 days ago...down almost 25lbs already. Starting to worry it's working *too* well. Almost have to force myself to eat, just zero appetite. Don't want to end up with gallstones or something!

Congrats on the weight loss! But yeah, you definitely need to eat *something* to preserve muscle. Prioritize protein – shakes are a good option when you don't feel hungry. Smoothies too!

Hey! Started reta last week (tiny dose, 0.5mg) and not seeing *any* appetite suppression. I lift 2-3x a week, not super overweight (BMI 26). Just curious about your dosage.

If you're new to weight loss, don't freak out if it slows down. You'll initially drop a bunch of water weight. Sustained rapid weight loss isn't really ideal anyway – exhaustion, fainting, gallstones, etc. A reasonable target is 1-1.5kg of *fat* loss per week (requiring a 7700-11550kcal weekly deficit), and it depends on your starting weight.

No stranger to losing (and regaining!) weight. 😂 I started at 146kg, now 136kg. So I'll probably lose faster than most to start, just because of my size. Trying to get protein in, and I'll up my fiber too. Really need to get back to the gym, otherwise I'm going to lose all my muscle.

Good luck! I began at 145kg and lost exactly 6kg every month until I was around 90kg. Started in 2022, now using tirzepatide and a bit of reta to stay at 68kg. Hopefully these meds mean weight regain isn't inevitable anymore.

I agree with @DosePal, gotta be patient! I've seen so many amazing transformations on these meds. Check this out! This person looks *years* younger after losing weight!

I'm on a maintenance dose now after slow and steady loss. Dropped over 50 pounds in roughly 9 months. It's tough, but so worth it in the end. As someone said in another forum, sustainability beats crash dieting every time!

Thanks @ShapeFit and @Snack-Progress! Seeing those transformations is really motivating. I'm still pretty new to all this and trying to learn as much as I can. Appreciate the support!

When my clothes got smaller, I bagged up my old oversized items - nice clean undergarments and white socks, neatly folded - marked 'clean' and 'free', left it at the soup kitchen entrance. That stuff matters enormously to folks without much money, and it costs them a fortune to buy new.

My situation lines up with yours mostly. Want to show up more than ever but perform worse on limited calories and random nausea waves. Two or three different exercises then uphill treadmill 30-40 mins until sickness stops me.

Appreciate it. This year is finally about me getting healthier. I'm lifting six days a week, running on weekends, and honestly just feel more like myself than I have in years.
