RHR elevated on Reta?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Elevated RHR on Reta is the glucagon receptor component doing its job - glucagon raises heart rate as part of its metabolic effect, and at higher doses it's the piece that pushes RHR up even as weight drops. The tradeoff is whether the fat loss and metabolic benefit outweighs the cardiac load for you specifically.

Taurine at 2-3g is worth trying before making protocol changes - it addresses the cardiac excitation pathway directly and most people report RHR dropping back within a day or two of adding it.

10bpm up at 5mg is within the usual range and tends to stay rather than self-correct - the taurine approach in this thread is the most common response and seems to work faster than people expect.

Low 70s to mid 80s on the RHR at a few weeks in is right in the range people describe. For someone with low blood pressure baseline, the bump is noticeable but not a danger signal at mid 80s. 28 lbs down in the OP alongside that change is still a clean result. Did your RHR stabilize at any point or does it stay elevated consistently?

Titrating from 2mg up to 10mg by January and then coming back down to 5mg is useful context for the RHR question. The OP's elevated RHR at a consistent dose is worth tracking against where they started - RHR often rises slightly at higher doses and tends to normalize when the dose backs down. What did your RHR look like at 10mg compared to now at 5mg?

Both my resting and sleeping heart rate spiked hard on reta. Sounds like this level's fairly rare from what I've gathered.

Started late May.

Rough sleep, waking up repeatedly through the night, night sweats. All of it started showing up right around week two and stuck around.

On the sleep front, tried THC edibles, ashwagandha, melatonin. None made much of a dent. Don't drink, no caffeine, no nicotine either. Diet's pretty clean too.

Count me among the split-dosing crowd (yes, I know) running 2mg every three days. Built up a solid serum concentration that way.

Never got that food repulsion or hard appetite crash people describe, so layered in 250mcg of a second compound after the first month.

Added taurine too hoping it'd bring the heart rate down. Didn't really help.

Stopped the reta since, curious whether the second compound alone will manage appetite well enough on its own. Waiting for levels to clear and hoping heart rate follows suit.

Not sure if it's the weight coming off or reta actually lowering blood pressure related stuff. Resting heart rate's still up but only by about five beats, going from around nine to ten with some margin of error. Roughly twelve weeks in on reta now, ramping the amount up painfully slowly. Sitting at 4mg once weekly currently. Noticed something after the very first shot, barely anything since.

Honestly wasn't worried in the slightest, provided my resting pulse stayed under 90. Not a medical professional here, just a reasonably funny guy carrying extra weight. Your results may differ.

I've started tracking two cardiac fitness metrics much more closely since starting the third compound in January, one that measures beat-to-beat variation and the resting pulse itself. Before that my eating habits were poor and I was drinking too much, and both numbers bounced around unpredictably. Once my eating improved and the urge to drink mostly faded, things stabilized into a fairly narrow range within a few weeks.

Something I've noticed with this compound is that right after my weekly dose, the variability metric dips and my pulse climbs, then both drift back to baseline before the next injection. My biggest swing away from that pattern happened when I raised a dose while off a separate peptide blend. Felt awful for two full weeks even after stepping back down the following week. This round, even at a higher amount, I got the usual dip-and-recover, and it's only Saturday, three days out, with the variability number already back above baseline. Curious if that holds steady or if this week's just a fluke.

Also slept badly the two nights before that, and my wearable flagged an overnight pulse running in the 50s rather than my usual 40s.

Hadn't even considered checking until this thread popped up, but mine climbed 5 BPM too. According to my watch, my resting heart rate held steady at 55 BPM for two years straight. Three weeks after starting Reta at 1mg weekly, it's sitting at 60 BPM. Haven't actually noticed it physically though.
