Scale ain't budging - halp!

I'm on week 11 of the needle:
Month 1: 0.25mg
Month 2: 0.5mg
Month 3: 1.0mg

I also started lifting weights combined with HIIT workouts, like, five times a week. Used to be a total couch potato. I'm really watching what I eat, tracking everything, aiming for around 1400 calories. I feel amazing, strong, loads of energy, but the scale hasn't moved a bit! I swear, before the shots, I could drop like 2-3 pounds a week just by eating clean. Yeah, the cravings were rough, but at least I saw results. What gives? Anyone got any advice?

Hi Nicky37 and all,

Just a reminder about the rules here. Please avoid discussing non-approved formulations or offering medications for sale (even in DMs). If someone sends you a DM like that, it's not endorsed by this group.

If you're new, check out the FAQ. This isn't to shut down discussion, just to help supplement it!

The main thing is to get healthy and reduce fat, not just see a lower number on the scale. Have you considered that you might be gaining muscle mass and improving bone density while losing fat? A DEXA scan is the most precise way to measure this, but an easier way is to notice how your clothes fit. If your pants are looser around your waist (or wherever you tend to accumulate fat), that's a good sign, irrespective of what the scale indicates. Alternatively, your body may have adapted to the new HIIT routine by reducing movement outside of your exercise sessions.

It could be that you're not eating enough. HIIT is a big calorie burner. Those workouts could easily torch 500-700 calories depending on the intensity and duration. Consuming only 1400 calories might actually make your body want to hang onto every last bit. Could also depend on your starting weight.

It's funny when people say the scale isn't moving but they are losing weight slowly. Don’t stress, some of us are slow responders. Some people need to reach higher doses before they see steady loss, don’t sweat it. I'm curious, how tall are you and how old are you? I'd feel like I'm practically starving on only 1400 calories a day with that level of activity. I’m 5'3 and nearing menopause and need to eat more than that. Sometimes, eating too little backfires on you.

It sounds like body recomposition! You're likely shedding fat and gaining muscle at the same time. This can stall the scale. Are you taking measurements? Are you shrinking in inches? How do your clothes fit? Are you getting stronger? Are you taking progress pics? Do you look more toned?

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm 5'10" and 37 years old. I'll def start tracking my measurements more closely. Maybe the scale is lying, lol. I feel good, just wish I could see some movement. Tone_998 maybe I should up my calories a bit?

It might be worth experimenting with. Add like 100-200 calories a day, focusing on protein and complex carbs, and see if that makes a difference after a week or two. You might be surprised!

Yeah, Nicky37, at your height and age, 1400 cals seems really low, especially with all that exercise. I bet your body is just holding on tight. Experiment a little!

I agree with HawkRN and Tone_998, you should definitely try upping your calories by a little bit each day, and try to get it from good sources. I know a lot of people see success with that!

Adding to what others are saying about body recomposition: one thing I've found helpful is to take progress pictures every couple of weeks. The changes can be subtle, but when you compare photos from a month or two apart, it can be really motivating. The scale doesn't always tell the whole story!

I never thought the shots would work but I'm down 30 pounds. I get some haters at work but whatever. Do it for YOU!
