Sema or Tirz: Which to try first?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Worth trying the other major medication in this class. Some people who struggle with one option find better results switching to the alternative.

Tirz isn't automatically the better call for everyone. Sure, it's a GLP-1 and GIP combo, but it leans more heavily GIP. If your body actually responds better to the GLP-1 side specifically, it'd make sense sema ends up working better for you.

Honestly this ended up outperforming tirz for me. Sema was going great, switched over since everyone insisted tirz was the stronger option, and the shift showed up almost immediately. Fewer side effects, sure, but also noticeably weaker appetite suppression and less food noise control.

Plenty of people knock Sema but it worked well for me, and honestly every GLP1 option should be on the table. Switched over to Tirz a few months back after being on a Sema maintenance dose, now on Tirz for maintenance instead. Miss the stronger appetite suppression Sema gave me though.

Side effect wise, probably more to manage on Sema, but really it just comes down to handling whatever you are on.

Good luck and enjoy the ride, it has been great for me.

Mounjaro tends to get the edge for weight loss overall. Its active ingredient works on two separate receptor pathways at once, rather than just the single pathway semaglutide (found in Wegovy) targets. Head-to-head trial data comparing the two showed roughly a 20% body weight reduction for the dual-pathway option against under 14% for the single-pathway one, measured after well over a year of treatment.

Question. Weighing whether to start a GLP1 medication for shedding weight. Which works better, Mounjaro or Semaglutide? The generic version of semaglutide runs cheaper of course, but does it still perform as well as Mounjaro?

Responded far better to tirzepatide. Was honestly starting to wonder if this whole GLP-1 thing was overhyped. Found a new doctor who switched me to zepbound, and once I hit the right amount, everything clicked.

From what I understand, everyone's chemistry is different. Might be worth trying semaglutide and seeing what happens once you reach a therapeutic level? Works out, great! Doesn't, switch to something else!
