Sema second round -- stalled?

Hey everyone, so I used semaglutide before and I lost about 30 pounds, which was awesome. I maintained for a bit and then stopped, thinking I was all good. But now I'm back on it because the weight crept back... I'm realizing it might be a long-term thing for me. But this time around, it's not working like before. The first time, I lost like a pound a week, but now it's been a month and I've only lost 2 pounds. I'm wondering if it's because I'm injecting in my stomach now instead of my arm? I used to get the injections at a clinic, but now I'm doing them myself, so I can't reach my arm. Anyone else experience this?

I've noticed reading through these threads that when people go back on GLP-1s after stopping, they usually have to go up to a higher dosage to get the same effect as the first time.

I think you'll see results again, just be patient. Also, rapid weight loss isn't always sustainable anyway. And remember, this is often considered a long-term medication. These meds are meant for managing weight, not just losing a few pounds for a special event.

Honestly, it doesn't do anything for my appetite. I take it more for the mental benefits now. I pretty much gave up on it for weight loss.

You'll probably need to increase your dose until it kicks in again. I'm on my second go-around too, and I'm taking 1.25 mg now. The first time, I never went above 0.75 mg.

I'm totally experiencing the same thing as CutChick. I was on it for like 3 months and lost nearly 30 pounds. Then I stopped and gained back maybe 10. Started again a few weeks ago and I think it's because I'm at a lower dose. Hopefully the effect comes back as I go up, but right now I get an effect for a day or two and then I'm STARVING.

When you stopped taking it, did you keep up with any diet or exercise? I'm thinking about stopping eventually, but I'm worried I'll gain all the weight back even if I do that.

I was on semaglutide a while ago, lost some weight, but starting again after my pregnancy was useless. I switched to tirzepatide and that's working for me now.

It's important to remember that these medications are tools to help you build healthier habits. If you go back to your old habits after stopping, the weight will likely return. Focus on sustainable lifestyle changes while you're on the medication.

Still pretty fresh to this medication, only 4 weeks deep. Haven't stepped on the scale yet but the changes in how my clothes fit are obvious already. The puffiness has pretty much vanished.
