Sema stopped working... switch to Tirz?

Thinking of trying Tirzepatide. Lost 55 pounds on sema at first, but gained back a bit. Feels like my body has adjusted. Anyone know of a good forum or community for switching over and figuring out the right dose?

I think a plateau is actually pretty normal. I've been stuck at the same weight for almost two months now. At first, I was bummed, but then I realized I've lost 35 pounds and I'm not gaining it back! That's a win for me. I'm going to start tracking things more closely again to try and kickstart the weight loss, but honestly, I'm happy where I am. Also, I read 'The Renaissance Diet' and it helped me understand the role of nutrition for body recomp.

The same thing happened to me, and it turned out I was accidentally eating more. I started measuring again, and I was eating like 300 calories more per day than I thought. You need fewer calories as you get smaller to keep losing. So annoying! I'm sticking with sema and saving tirzepatide for later if I really need it.

I'm on 2.4mg. I lift weights three times a week, walk twice a week. The food cravings return the day before my injection. My diet is pretty consistent, it has been for years. I avoid gluten and dairy, no junk food, and don't count calories anymore.

I just switched to Tirzepatide. I lost about 38 pounds on Semaglutide and then just...stopped losing. I haven't lost anything since last April, so after about 8 months at the highest dose, I figured I'd gone as far as I could. I'm only three weeks into Tirz and at the starting dose, so I haven't seen any changes yet. The first week had some side effects, but now I'm leveling up.

Tirzepatide can be more effective for some individuals because it works on both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, while semaglutide only targets GLP-1. Studies have shown that, on average, people on tirzepatide experience a slightly greater body weight reduction compared to semaglutide, particularly for those who have a significant amount of weight to lose. It might be a good option if you didn't respond well to semaglutide.

Maybe try counting calories again for a week or two just to see where you're at? Sometimes we think we're eating consistently, but things have crept up without us realizing.

I've read that some people find tirzepatide has fewer side effects, too. But I also saw some people say sema worked better for them, so it's really different for everyone.

T2D here, been on 2mg about 9-10 months, plateau hit 2 months ago. Doctor gave me the option to switch brands if this stops working. Don't see them until July so we'll see. My mom's also T2D, was on the first one for years at 2mg, switched because her new doctor pushes the second one. She's lost weight since switching—now at 10mg.

ADHD medication and sema working together on binge eating is a documented combination - the dopamine pathway and satiety signaling reinforce each other for that pattern.
