Sema + trainer = life upgrade!

Anxiety got tougher for me after 16 months on GLP meds. Can't tell if it's from switching between drugs or adding something new, but I'm having a harder time managing it like before. Mirtazapine helps - lets me sit with the anxiety without it taking over.

been on it 1.5 years, down 60. stuck with 1mg compounded. then had surgery and took 2 weeks off. restarted and it's just not the same appetite-wise. thinking maybe higher dose or try something else.

The 'always in the finals if not the podium' framing for pre-medication drinking habits is more honest than most people manage in these threads. The GLP-1 reset on reward-driven behavior tends to hit hardest in the first few months regardless of what the starting habits were.

Good luck ramping up! Just kicked off the lowest amount of the first compound myself tonight, curious how it'll interact with drinking too. Appreciate all the info shared here.

Have ADHD, lean toward borderline alcoholic tendencies, and was smoking up to two vape carts daily before this. On sema since September 2024. Still have the occasional drink at dinner or a party, never more than one, never more than once a month. Haven't touched nicotine since January 7th of last year. Oh, and I'm down 112 lbs. Still get pulled toward old habits sometimes, mostly when stressed or tired, doom scrolling, wanting a smoke, or the itch to shop compulsively (though to be fair my sizes keep changing and my closet's basically empty!). Started hitting the gym during the exact hours I used to spend drinking after work, filling that gap. Results will vary for everyone. I was definitely someone who responded strongly to this. Hasn't been effortless, plenty of gym time involved, but to answer the question, yes it's worked. Edit to add, currently at 1.75mg weekly, been there about five months and planning to stay. Three pounds from goal, and lately only shedding a quarter to half a pound each week, though that tracks given I'm settling into a healthy BMI at this point.

Gorgeous!! I'm brand new to this whole sema journey. Did exercise play a role for you, or was it mainly diet plus sema doing the heavy lifting? Congratulations!

Been sticking with this and it's paying off in a big way, results showing up in the mirror and at the gym alike. Woman, early 40s, on the first compound a year, down 40lb, added training back in March.

Worth noting, my training volume runs well below average. I make sure to fully recover between sessions. Skipping that recovery would just pile on fatigue I don't need.

Got myself a coach who genuinely reads my body better than I can myself. That relationship's sped up my gym progress enormously. Plus I'm still getting those early newbie gains, which never stops feeling good.

The scale itself moves slower though, only about half a pound weekly, maybe 2-3lb a month. Sounds painfully gradual, but my measurements are shrinking quicker than when I was purely chasing fat loss. Overall I just feel better.

Had to raise my daily food intake by roughly 2-300 calories once real training started too. Yet the pounds keep coming off at the same rate. Also stopped feeling cold all the time. Loving all of it, feeling powerful and more in tune with my own body!
