Sema vs Tirz: Anyone Switching?

Tirz is a beast. Semaglutide is still effective and could be more cost-effective long-term. That's my strategy, at least.

Some folks respond really well to semaglutide. I was on compounded sema for nine months because I believed it would eventually work for me. I definitely experienced reduced appetite – no more late-night pizza binges, less snacking, and easier dieting. However, my weight loss was gradual, and there were months with no progress. I also had some side effects from higher doses, like major constipation and fatigue. I realized I couldn't do intense workouts on sema days. My PA wasn't surprised and thought I was seeing average results. When I decreased the sema and added tirzepatide, I immediately felt better. My energy returned, the constipation disappeared, and I had no fatigue. Plus, my food cravings are much lower, even on a smaller dose.

Sema worked for me when I first started it last year. I lost about 40 pounds, but I still want to lose at least 30 more. It stopped working for me over the summer, so I switched to something else and the weight is coming off again.

I gave myself my first ZepBound injection in my stomach yesterday, and I barely felt it. It's subcutaneous, so the needle is short and small.

I'm in Canada, and I heard the Ozempic patent is up in 2026. Does that mean generics will be cheaper? I hope so!

I saw something about Oprah saying that taking Ozempic made her realize thin people don't necessarily have more willpower. I totally relate! I wish this had been around for my grandma. She struggled with food her whole life.

Absolutely! GLP-1s address something in the brain, not a moral failing. It's about biology, not willpower.

I read somewhere that it might take Health Canada until Q3 or Q4 of 2026 to approve generic semaglutide. So, maybe not right away in January.

Hit 18 months of max-dose Tirz stashed, and my loss rate says that gets me to goal. Great spot to be in. Also scored sema at good prices when things dipped-timing was perfect.

I feel you on the frustration. Sounds like you've still got room to titrate the Tirz before stacking with Sema. Maybe give it another month or so to see if that helps? You're clearly thinking it through from all angles anyway.

Sema didn't do much for me, but Tirz handles the appetite okay. Problem is the food noise is still there for me.

Haven't come across any second-party Amo testing labs. Lots of third-party ones for tirz and a few others, but nothing for sema that I'm aware. I'm running one myself but can't share the results.

hitting a wall with sema at max dose and thinking about making the jump to tirz. was wondering if others have switched and what their experience was like - did you see better results? any tips for the transition? side effects get worse when you go up? thanks
