Six Month Reta Check-in

Hong Kong Yanpep International
65 pounds on Tirz before adding Reta and sleep not affected is such a clean experience to report! The 15mg ceiling on Tirz is exactly when most people make the move to Reta. Six months in is a great milestone - how is it feeling compared to the Tirz-only days?

A 27% bodyweight drop already, and that's while running below-clinical amounts of both reta and tirz. Tirz just doesn't have great data behind it for pushing past a 25% total loss. Makes sense to lean into reta instead. Worth committing to a solid 12mg reta amount and dropping tirz entirely. Expect the pace to slow from here, but there should still be steady movement. Also watch food choices closely, since edging toward 30% total loss isn't typical territory. Running reta doesn't mean eating carelessly if the goal is past that 30% mark. That's a lot of weight. Even five pounds a month at this stage still counts as solid progress.

Good luck!

Agreed, prior experience isn't a prerequisite for solid advice. Open to hearing the reasoning behind Tirzepatide as the stronger pick when the aim is squeezing out the most possible weight loss.

When I began on Tirz chasing that same objective, published data suggested Reta actually outperformed it on average, which is what pushed my own switch from Tirz over to Reta. Since then, headline Phase 3 results dropped, widening that efficacy gap even further.

Based on my own numbers, thirty weeks in, 210 days since starting peptides, I'm down 72 pounds, roughly 25.5%. First DEXA scan happened 23 weeks back, most recent one five weeks ago, next scan lands Monday next week. Between that first and latest scan, lost 39 pounds while shedding under 2 pounds of lean mass. Expecting that lean-mass figure to tick up slightly in next week's results.

People running 8mg reta ended up losing a bit over 20% of their bodyweight across a year roughly, while the 12mg crowd exceeded 25%. So really the starting point is figuring out your own target weight (not sure of your height here) and working backward from there. Worth remembering that timeline stretched across 48 weeks in those results, so patience matters. For reference, took me about a year and a half to hit 30% bodyweight loss running both tirz and sema together.

Good luck!
