Skin Removal after GLP-1s - Worth it?

Just had my arm lift and lower face/neck lift surgery last week. So, I dropped a total of 130 pounds, about 75 of those thanks to Ozempic. Check out the before and after pics of my profile and arms.

I'm dealing with unexpected emotions, realizing I didn't fully grasp the impact of finally seeing my chin after years of extra chins or loose skin. It's wild.

Physically, the recovery hasn't been too bad. There's still a lot of swelling, especially around my neck, and the sutures under my arms are uncomfortable and not pretty. I'm definitely more of a baby than I thought, keeping my therapist busy, lol.

But no regrets! I'm so happy I went ahead with it!

You look fantastic! About how long does it take to recover from something like that? And does insurance usually cover this kind of thing, or is it all out-of-pocket?

Wow!! You look like you're 10 years younger...😳😁👍🏻..congratulations! I'm sure it will take some getting used to the new you, but you look great!

I know I'm going to have major skin issues with those areas too. I already have tons of loose skin on my arms, and I've had my saggy neck for ages..🙁 I still need to lose about another 90lbs; I've lost around 40lbs so far so I know it's going to be bad...

I have a couple of questions: can you tell me the brand/name of the arm compression sleeves? Do you wear them all the time?
What were the names of the procedures you had done?

Thanks and congratulations!!

My highest weight was 220. I’m now 130 at 5’4.5” and still feel like I have some fat on my thighs and stomach, so I’m trying to get to 120 to see if that helps. I've never had surgery before and was hoping I wouldn't need it. I’m starting to think about getting a lower facelift because of extra skin under my chin. My body isn't too bad, especially if I build muscle, but when I suck in my stomach, I get wrinkles, so I'm wondering if I'll end up with loose skin there after losing more weight??? Anyway, you look amazing. How much did it cost you? I don’t know if surgery will be an option for me after I lose more weight, but I see so many people getting it at the end. Thanks!

Amazing transformation! If you don’t mind me asking, how much did the arm lift cost? My arms are so saggy and I'm embarrassed to wear short sleeves in the summer.😩😩

Hey Hank64 and everyone else asking about costs: It really depends on the surgeon and where you live. Some insurance companies will cover it if you can prove medical necessity (like rashes from the skin folds), but mine didn't. I'd recommend getting a few consultations.

Have you considered peptides? I've heard good things about Sermorelin for dealing with stubborn fat. Someone I know uses 300 mcg before bed and says it's helped a lot with fat loss and gaining muscle.

I'm glad to hear you're so happy with the results! I've been on Ozempic for a few months and have dropped about 25 pounds. I'm doing high protein, low carb, lots of water, and walking. I hope my skin snaps back like yours!

I've read about Sermorelin too. Some people combine it with Ipamorelin. The combo is supposed to help with deeper sleep and fat loss. But do your research; it's not a magic bullet.
