Still hungry on week 2?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Not sure about estradiol management but TRT alongside GLP-1 does come up a lot in here. A lot of people run both. There might be a thread specifically about it if you search - more people with experience would be there than in the week 2 hunger thread.

Still dealing with constant hunger and food thoughts here too. For me, the shot helps with restraint and sticking to smaller meals, but the appetite doesn't just vanish. I'm in the gym 60-70 mins most days plus cardio, so that probably keeps hunger higher than it might be otherwise.

Hunger on week 2 after a dose bump is the adaptation phase - the appetite suppression often runs behind the new dose by 5-7 days before it catches up.

GLP-1 gastric emptying delay means the 'full signal' arrives late during week two - the stomach holds more volume with slower mechanical feedback. Eating through that delay is what causes extended discomfort.

Second-week hunger at the starting dose is normal - the first week's effect is partly initial response, and real suppression builds gradually as the dose increases.

Week one fullness followed by week two hunger is a known pattern during the initial titration - the satiety signal recalibrates as the receptors adjust to the first dose. The appetite suppression usually stabilizes again over the following week or two.

week two is still within the window where the medication hasn't fully engaged - the first few weeks tend to run differently than the long-term experience, and the satiety signal can take 3-4 weeks to really kick in consistently. eating anyway when the signal isn't clear yet is the right call; letting the process run another couple of weeks before drawing conclusions is the standard advice

the water-before-eating approach is one of the most reliable early-week tools while the medication is still building up - the stomach volume response to water dulls the hunger signal enough to bridge to a reasonable eating window, and it addresses the dehydration component that sometimes presents as hunger. a glass or two in the morning is a habit worth setting regardless of whether hunger is an issue

Happens to me sometimes even a few hours after eating, right before bed. I just tell myself to get it together and it usually passes. Drinking extra water helps too, fills the stomach enough to quiet the hunger feeling lol

Feeling hungry is actually expected here. The whole point is using the medication as a tool to manage that hunger and make smarter choices around it.

Haven't changed the actual food choices, just staying mindful about portion sizes since overeating seems to be what's triggering the intense hunger signals.

It's honestly a little odd. Certain weeks nothing sounds off limits and I could eat anything, then other weeks like this one literally nothing appeals to me at all. My weight stays fairly steady though, bouncing within maybe 4-5 pounds either direction.

Also on week two here. Doing fine so far, but honestly bracing myself for it to get worse. Trying to remind myself how often nausea and stomach trouble used to hit me back when I was eating poorly anyway. If I could put up with feeling bad from junk food, I can definitely put up with feeling a little rough while actually eating well and taking something that's supposed to help me get healthier. We've got this!
