Switching from Sema to Reta - advice?

Hey, my buddy's been doing 1mg of Sema and wants to swap to Reta. What starting dose would you guys recommend?

When I went from 0.75 mg sema, I began Reta at 1mg weekly after stopping sema. Didn't notice much at first, so I bumped it to 2 mg weekly after a couple of weeks. Thinking about going up to 3 mg after another month to see if it kicks in more.

I was on 1mg sema every Sunday and then did .5mg reta that Wednesday. I went up pretty slowly, making sure not to increase both in the same week. Now I'm at 1.5 mg sema and 8mg reta.

1mg of semaglutide helped me ditch about 65-70 pounds back when it was still being researched and easy to get. With retatrutide, started at 1.5mg, then quickly upped it to 2.2, then 3, then 4 before jumping to 8 mg.

During my first week of switching from Tirz to Reta, I did 7mg over 6 injections. 36mg in my first month over 15 injections. No bad reactions to report.

I went from 1mg week 1, to 2mg week 2, then 3mg week 3 of reta. Gave me a kinda head cold feeling. I'm new to this so not sure if you just have to adjust, but the first couple weeks I barely felt anything. 3mg is definately working, I had lunch, then 8oz bowls of tuna and eggs for dinner and was set for the day.

Just switched from 2mg of sema to 3mg of reta. I stopped losing weight on sema. Lost 11lb in a couple weeks after switching. On week 3 of 3mg reta. Biggest thing is almost no side effects compared to sema. Reta makes my brain tell me I'm full. Sema gives me a full or slightly queasy feeling, so I don't want to eat. Reta def makes me more irritable, lol. I'm gonna up it to 4mg on week 4. Good luck!

I was on 2.4 of wagovey (Sema) before switching over and started back on low doses, looking back I should have started on about 4mg - agree with back-on-track I'd start on 2mg

I totally get this. It's a different kind of appetite suppression. Sema felt more forced, while Reta feels more natural, even though I'm still not as hungry.

For those of you experiencing slower weight loss on these meds, are you also making lifestyle changes? I've found that diet and exercise are crucial for maximizing the benefits. It's not just about the medication; it's a holistic approach.

That 'head cold' feeling can be a sign of dehydration. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water and electrolytes.

I know some folks are slower losers, and get discouraged, but hang in there! Even a little progress is still progress. Slow and steady wins the race. Just keep at it and don't give up!

For GLP1s it just takes time for your body to settle. Nice you're making a care package for her. Best I'd say is electrolyte packets and a good tumbler. Hydration's tougher on these meds.
