Targeted Fat Loss Creams?

I found this older study from 2006 about applying aminophylline cream to try and reduce fat directly on the waist: https://dom-pubs.pericles-prod.literatumonline.com/doi/10.1111/j.1463-1326.2006.00600.x. It seems like it had some positive effects, at least according to the study.

I did a quick search here and it looks like it's been brought up a couple of times. @milos posted a systematic review of aminophylline, and I thought it was really interesting: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9978326/. It looks like it could be promising:

I'm interested in aminophylline because I'm not really trying to lose a ton of weight, I just want to change where the fat is stored (and keep my muscle, of course). Getting my hands on aminophylline might be tricky. I'd probably test it out while eating at maintenance calories to see how it affects fat, given that a lot of the research out there focuses on women who are actively dieting.

I used to think spot reduction was basically a myth, but it looks like there's some evidence here. I tried to find the full study, but only saw the abstract. It mentioned other studies showing it worked on thighs, and the drug levels in the blood were undetectable with no adverse events. But it didn't say how many subjects. With so many ineffective or invasive treatments, why didn't this catch on more?

This would be ideal. I'm on Reta and doing resistance training right now, and my boobs and butt are shrinking while my waist stays the same.

I've always thought that losing weight (and especially fat) makes people look younger. It's like a double win, health benefits and better appearance. But I wonder if it's *always* the case?

I've heard some people on weight loss meds like Ozempic end up with what they call "Ozempic face" where their face looks gaunt. Maybe it's just because they lost a lot of fat, but it seems like it can age some people.

I think it depends. I'm getting older, and as my face thins out I feel like I need *more* makeup now to look my best. It's weird, I always thought it would be the opposite.

I saw someone on Reddit say they've been on Ozempic since April and lost like 25 pounds by eating more protein, fewer carbs, and drinking water and walking. Sounds like a simple plan!

The "Ozempic face" thing is interesting. I wonder if it's related to the rate of weight loss? Maybe losing weight too quickly causes the skin to sag more.

Recomposition is definitely worth trying at your stage. Yeah, it takes patience, but you're maintaining calories while pushing protein intake and strength work. The payoff is you end up looking leaner and tighter, not just thinner. Best of luck with it.

Upped to 10, definitely a different pace since christmas. Thirty quick at first was probably water. Getting bloodwork to track body fat percentage.

DEXA gave me a baseline but honestly it doesn't drive my decisions on dosing or how much to lose. That said, the visceral fat numbers might matter down the road if I need to adjust the approach. Blood work was way more useful for planning.

got knocked out within 12 hours from the first dose so pick a friday afternoon or saturday morning. you can always shift injection day later if needed. honestly wish i'd started with half the starting dose and let my body adapt slower. easier to add if no side effects than go the other way.

I've been on Mounjaro 7.5mg for 6 months and noticed way more hair shedding lately. It feels thinner too. Has anyone dealt with this? Any supplements or tips that actually help? Looking for real answers here.

I stopped meds a week before my procedure and fasted 3.5 days just to be safe. Dreaded it for years but honestly? Way easier and better than I expected. 9/10. All clear now and 10 years till next time.

Did that procedure back in 2014, waste of money and pain. Fifteen hundred bucks gone, zero results, and I got sharp pains out of nowhere for weeks after. Lipo actually worked - flattened everything and got rid of the cellulite.
