Thinking about switching to Sema from Reta

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Currently running reta at 3mg weekly, and back at the very start, just 1mg, the weight loss momentum felt incredible for a good stretch. These days though, it's like nothing's registering anymore, which has me considering pushing to 4mg. Trouble is my resting pulse jumped roughly 20 points and that's not something worth chasing further. So now I'm leaning toward trying sema instead when my next round begins. Curious what starting dose makes sense and how the experience typically differs from reta.

Yes, nausea's more likely with one particular compound. The other could bump up heart rate instead. Plenty of ways things could go sideways honestly. Stay cautious out there.

That particular number doesn't correspond to a standard dosing unit for that medication. Converting it to the actual milligram equivalent would be needed before switching providers.

Been posting updates in a few spots about what's worked for me over three years. Down 137 pounds total, started at 336, and as of this past Monday I'm sitting right at 198.2. Currently running 15mg reta on Thursdays and 1mg sema on Mondays. Still losing slowly, wouldn't mind reaching 190. Original target was 230, blew past that and I'm now down 41% of my starting weight.

Now in week two of 4mg after two months of titrating up. I'm finally getting suppression of hunger and food noise. Before this came 1.5 years of sema at 1 mg, and reta now 'feels' the way sema did back when it was effective.

Took .25mg of Sema last Thursday on top of a much higher Reta dose, expecting to do it twice in week one. Looking back i should have done .125mg for the first dose. Reta and Tirz never gave me a lingering bleh feeling. Sema is a different story, total bleh city, worst yesterday afternoon. It got bad enough that i postponed last nights Reta shot till i felt steady. Easy to add more later, hard to undo an overdose, you just wait it out.

I began at 1.2mg sema plus 8mg reta weekly, and since reaching goal was getting slow I started reducing. Current setup: sema 1.2mg, reta 4mg. Plan: wean off reta across the coming 12 weeks, then hold sema six weeks and see if the weight returns. If not, I'll cut sema too, stepping down 0.2mg monthly, to locate my maintenance dose.

Both for me, for a long stretch now: reta at 4mg plus sema at 1mg. Sema is the original, and after more than four years on these meds, nothing else quiets my food noise the way it does.

Spent four months on sema with barely anything to show for it. Moved over to tirz, climbed to 5mg across three weeks, still nothing noticeable. Kept seeing people here stacking reta with tirz, so figured let's actually get this working. Went straight to 10mg tirz, then added 5mg reta three days after that. Eight months down the road, still on that same combo, zero side effects, and 70 pounds lighter. Thinking about nudging it up a bit more to finish off the last few pounds.
