Tirz, Reta, and Joint Pain: Anyone Else?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Thanks CGM_Watcher. I was thinking the same thing. It's just tough to give up on the idea of Reta since it's supposed to be so much better for weight loss. But feeling good is more important, I guess.

Stomach surgery changed my whole situation - had 80% removed. Blood work guides what I actually need. Daily multi for sure, D3 when it crashes, fish oil for omegas, B12 shot monthly helps with rest, and KLOW shots cut the joint pain way down.

I've heard tirzepatide helps many people with pain and swelling. I have hypermobility, Lyme disease, and autoimmune thyroid stuff. Nothing before would let me shed weight. Has anything worked in your situation?

I'm only a few weeks in and braced for constipation problems, but honestly the opposite happened. Digestion feels smoother with way less discomfort. Curious if others are finding the same thing.

8mg Reta is a significant dose and joint discomfort at that level is documented here. Adding Tirz introduces the GIP component - a different anti-inflammatory pathway. Protocol tracking: dose, interval, and joint response over the first 4-6 weeks.

80-90% resolution in the hand and thumb is a solid outcome. That joint responds well on the combined protocol. Most see the improvement within 4-8 weeks at therapeutic dose.

Sorry to hear that. Adding a glucosamine supplement to my routine has genuinely helped keep my joints in better shape. Works as a preventive measure against cartilage breakdown, which had been bothering me a bit.

Tirz has a real reputation for cutting inflammation! That's exactly why maintenance switched back to it once the last of the weight came off on Reta. All that hand and hip arthritis, completely gone!

Reta was my entry point into all this. Cleared the swelling out of my ankles within the first week alone. Genuinely think its anti-inflammatory side gets overlooked.

Started a thread on this exact topic a while back. Reta clearly works, but tirz seems to carry extra anti-inflammatory value I wouldn't want to give up. Haven't come across solid research or firsthand accounts confirming tirzepatide does more there specifically. Wondering if it's the gip agonism driving that, since retatrutide also activates gip receptors. Curious if anyone's dug deeper into that angle.

Seven weeks into a compounded version of this medication now. Expected the usual fat and weight loss from being in a calorie deficit. Genuinely surprised by how much inflammation eased up though. So many joints feel noticeably better. Standing straighter these days since a nagging lower back nerve issue finally let up. Dealing with a fatty liver too and read that a different compound in this class has strong effects there thanks to how it burns fat. Would love more input on that before deciding whether to switch, since this one's working so well already.

Purely anecdotal, but I started on the dual-action medication, switched over to the third compound, climbed to a 6mg amount, and reverted to the original once the joint pain and inflammation crept back on the newer one. These days it's mostly the original, layering on 1-3mg of the third compound during certain weeks, and on other weeks swapping that for just an additional 2mg of the original instead. Running an anti-inflammatory peptide alongside it feels non-negotiable whenever I try the third compound by itself!
