Tirzepatide and wicked acid reflux?

The day 1-2 heartburn that settles by day 3 is the pattern your coworker hit. Starting with the next dose lower rather than trying to push through it too fast is usually the recommendation. How far into the injection sequence is the OP and is it happening every time or just the first couple?
 
The acid reflux appearing after titrating up to 2mg/week is consistent with what the slowed gastric emptying mechanism can do - stomach contents sitting longer, especially at night. Adjusting sleep timing relative to eating tends to help more than antacids for most people. How many hours after your last meal are you usually lying down?
 
Had awful heartburn on Tirzepatide, the sort that jolts you awake with a sour taste in your mouth. Taking Omeprazole every day killed it entirely, took maybe 48 hours to kick in. Some weeks on I lowered the dose and later quit it. The heartburn never came back, likely thanks to how GLP-1s change what you eat.
 
For years now a daily 10mg morning dose has handled my night reflux, and im still on it. On tirz, the three days following my shot i keep dinner tiny and skip food after 3pm, or reflux wakes me up.
