Tirzepatide - when does it actually work?

Hey everyone. I began taking Tirz two weeks ago, at a dose of 2.5 mg each week. So far, two injections, and I haven't noticed any reduction in hunger or those constant food thoughts. I did have some mild stomach upset and diarrhea, which I know are common. I'm also taking a few other peptides (GHRP-2, GHRP-6, and Melanotan 2), and I'm on TRT with 150 mg of Test weekly. Should I continue at 2.5 mg for another couple of weeks, or should I increase the dose to 5 mg now to see if that helps with the appetite reduction?

The usual recommendation is to stay at 2.5mg for a month. I jumped right to 5mg when I started, but I didn't know any better at the time. I didn't have any negative effects. I know a couple of friends who went from 2.5 to 5 after just a couple of weeks, also with no issues. But since you've already had some minor side effects at 2.5mg, it might be best to stick with the lower dose for a few more weeks.

I would stick with the 2.5mg for now and let your body adjust. The 2.5mg dose isn't really known for consistent weight loss. The side effects can definitely increase as you up the dosage (that was my experience), so it's best to be patient.

I started feeling less hungry and not thinking about food constantly within like, half a day. It took me about half a year to get to 5mg.

I increased to 5mg at week four, but I slowly worked my way up during those initial weeks. I didn't really feel much appetite suppression until I hit 5mg, but I'm only using the one peptide. Everyone reacts differently. If I were taking multiple peptides, I'd probably follow the standard protocol.

I also suggest increasing the dose as directed - slowly. Like 4 weeks minimum at each dose. I did 2.5mg for 11 weeks, then 5mg until I reached my goal (down 75 lbs). The worst case if you go slow? You just make your supply last longer.

I didn't follow the 'official' titration schedule going from 2.5 to 5.0. I only bumped it up by .5 at a time.

Cool. But the reason you took so long to get to 5mg is because you were still getting results at the lower doses, right? That's what I was asking...

Hey, can I ask about your experience with Melanotan 2? I'm thinking about trying it out and trying to get as much info as I can from people who've actually used it.

It sounds like everyone's experience starting tirzepatide is different. Some people feel the effects right away, while others need higher doses or more time. And side effects seem to vary a lot too. I felt the effects within about 3 hours of my first injection and haven't had many side effects, so I increased the dose pretty quickly. My main GI issue has been constipation. Since you've had some side effects, even if they're mild, you should probably titrate slowly and stick with the 2.5mg for at least 4 weeks to give your body time to adjust. Also, you don't have to go straight from 2.5mg to 5mg. You could go to 3.5mg or 4mg if you're still having issues at 4 weeks. I do think there's some benefit to eventually increasing to higher doses if you can, particularly if you have a lot of weight to lose. Some people say they've lost a ton of weight on 2.5mg (and I believe them), but that's probably not typical.

I'm a 60 yo, 6'1", 170 lb male, on TRT. I started Zepbound at 2.5 mg when I weighed 201, and the appetite suppression was there within a day. I thought it was placebo, but it was real. And the constipation was also real from the very start. Even though my doc wanted me to increase the dose, I stayed at 2.5 for 3 months and lost about 30 pounds with about 15% body fat. I feel lucky my body responded to 2.5. Just stick to the recommended titration schedule, and you'll find the right dose for you. Don't rush it. It will eventually work.

Wait, you're taking a GHRP2 stack? GHRP2 completely cancelled out the appetite suppression from tirzepatide for me! It was like it broke my 'full' switch.

Thanks for the warning about tesa. I was thinking about adding it as I get closer to my goal, but if it messes with my appetite, I'm definitely waiting until I'm at my ideal weight.

Yeah, you're welcome... with a little catch...

When I used tesa, I already knew it would affect my appetite suppression - and specifically, tirz's effect on insulin. I still used it, knowing I'd have to be extra careful, because a lot of my fat was visceral, and I have a family history of cardiac issues. I wanted to throw everything I could at that VAT, and it worked, but it took a lot of focus because the appetite suppression decreased a lot.

I know tirz helps with VAT, but I thought adding 2mg of tesa daily (after being on tirz for 3 months at 5mg/week) would really target the VAT, and it did. That said, I definitely noticed less appetite suppression while using tesa.

I've hit my goal weight, my VAT is down to 3% of total body fat, and I stopped tesa at the start of December. My waist/hip measurements are still good, so I'm assuming all the changes I've made, including tirz, are working as expected.

Basically: anything that boosts IGF-1 is probably going to mess with tirz's appetite suppression because of changes in insulin. GHRP-2 will definitely do that. So will HGH, Ipa, Serm, Hex, all of them.

I started yesterday at 0.15mL, and I haven't noticed much of a change in my appetite, but I do feel full for longer. Also, I'm going to the bathroom more, but it's not diarrhea. It's just a lot of solid stool. My doctor wants me to do 0.15mL this week and next, and then increase to 0.3mL for the last two weeks of the month.

I'm taking semaglutide, and it randomly started working really well about 2.5 months in.
