Down 20, feeling great!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
21 pounds toward 120 is solid progress. At that height the final stretch tends to move slower - body composition becomes more relevant than the raw number. Protein and resistance training are the main levers when the scale starts to flatten.

162 to 141 with 20 more to goal is the first chapter closing - the clothing changes tend to outpace the scale in what they actually show.

20 lbs down at 5'1 is visible. The before/after posts are the ones that actually help people who are still at the starting line.

50 lbs since December and eating what you want within a healthy framework is the freedom the medication is supposed to give you - the appetite correction does the work so the diet doesn't have to be punishing. The OP at 20 lbs toward 120 is earlier in that same journey. 2.5 years in and still working for you is reassuring for someone just getting started.

The eating enough problem is such a strange thing after a lifetime of the opposite. Eating becoming a chore you have to remind yourself to do is genuinely unexpected. High-protein small meals work best for me when I need to hit targets without having any real hunger drive to guide me.

Crazy progress - from 162 to 141 and heading for 120 is a great trajectory. The 'what made you click' question is actually one of the most interesting things to hear from people, since the answer is different for everyone but the moment itself is usually very specific.

struggling at 1000-1200 calories for years before sema is the metabolic floor problem that the medication addresses from a different angle. the OP at 162 to 141 toward 120 is the trajectory you're 10 lbs into. not eating enough triggering stalls is a real issue on these medications - the appetite suppression sometimes drops intake too low and the body taps the brakes. how many calories are you managing now?

the intentional no-grazing structure is the part that maintains the deficit without counting calories - if the only food going in is at deliberate meals and snacks rather than ambient picking, the medication's appetite suppression can do its job between those windows. protein at every eating occasion keeps the muscle preservation piece addressed even at small meal sizes

Also making sure I'm getting solid nutrition to fuel the workouts. Tracking really helped there, whenever I felt randomly exhausted, that was usually the cue that I needed to eat more.

Really interesting thread and replies. Eight months into semaglutide myself. Dropped 75 pounds, 25 left to target. On the alcohol front, never drank much before so nothing's really missing there. If I want a drink, I just pour a small amount and don't overanalyze it. Food-wise, eating takes a conscious mental note now, and getting excited about cooking takes effort, though I try to keep it interesting. Not sure if flavors just changed or if the food noise dropped that low. Got a handful of trigger foods, things I'll snack on regardless of hunger, so I just avoid buying those. I do let myself have treats occasionally, but I'm not fixated on them (aside from the trigger foods). I'll see them sitting in the pantry and just leave them be. Some lean tissue's slipping away along the way, and lifting weights is helping offset that along with using protein powder to hit my numbers. Get tired sometimes, so I'll take a short nap and it recharges me noticeably. Toughest hurdle by far is water intake. Never used to drink consistently before, now it's essential. Keep pushing myself to drink more but gosh! Constipation was rough initially, less so now, though smaller bathroom trips since solid food intake's dropped. Heartburn's become an issue too, b

Semaglutide's been great for cutting appetite and quieting that constant food chatter, plus easing the low-sugar cravings. Pretty sure that's the whole point of the medication. Don't think it's revving up my metabolism or anything, rest is on me.

Strict calorie counting is what's actually working here. I don't add back any workout calories to pad my count. Goal is training my body to run on whatever my target weight actually needs. I average intake over the week, some days around 1800, others closer to 1300 (I'm on the shorter side).

Also aiming for 100 grams of protein daily through eggs, lean meat, legumes, and a protein drink swapped in for coffee cream. Skipping alcohol and fast food entirely.

Doing cardio plus some strength work daily too, without banking those calories for extra food.

My tracker of choice is a free barcode-scanning app.

Good luck, glad to be on this ride alongside you.
