Mood swings on Reta?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
It could be low blood sugar, Blair75, I know that if I don't eat regularly, I can get quite irritable! I've had to grab a sugary drink before to stop being so cranky.

I've also heard that some people are secretive about using weight loss meds because they don't want to deal with other people's judgments. I can see that, honestly. People can be real jerks about it, like it's not "real" weight loss or something.

Yeah, I've seen that too. I think some people are just jealous or feel insecure about their own struggles with weight, and it comes out as negativity towards others.

The anhedonia pattern is more commonly reported with reta than with tirz, probably because of the broader reward pathway suppression from the glucagon component on top of the GLP-1 mechanism. If mood and drive are already intact on tirz, it's a good indicator the dopamine pathway isn't heavily affected.

Reta stopping at week 3 with no dosage change making a difference and then Tirz hitting immediately is the experience that confirms the individual receptor response pattern. For the OP asking about mood on Reta - the GIP receptor response on Tirz tends to be more reliable on the mood and energy side than the glucagon agonism on Reta. If mood stability is a priority, Tirz history matters for predicting what Reta might do.

This genuinely helped my mental state. Thought I was just getting older or coming down with something. But it definitely lined up with switching over to reta. Never dealt with this on Tirz previously. Another reason I'm staying under 4.5mg for now is that skin-tingling sensation kicks in past that threshold.

Pretty sure reta's been messing with me too. Been noticeably more down than usual ever since starting it. Things that used to bring me joy just don't land the same way anymore. Sex drive has completely disappeared, which is genuinely out of character for me. Can't blame hormones either, officially crossed into postmenopause just last month.

Basically dulled reactions to stuff that should register as good or bad. Kind of like being oddly detached from something that should genuinely hit you emotionally either way. Should be noticeable when it happens. My amount is pretty small, 1.8mg, and I started the third compound back in April. Not certain the two are connected, but for what it's worth, my emotional flatness isn't severe and it doesn't seem to change my actual behavior, though it does shift how I FEEL about certain things somewhat.
