I've also almost made it to #onederland!!
I began using sema last June. I have really had a hard time thanks to my PCOS the last few years, only getting a period once a year or so and gaining weight like crazy. Also, my mental state was at its lowest. Hearing from the doctors that my odds of getting pregnant were not good and that I was likely headed for a diabetes diagnosis, I felt completely trapped. I dealt with it by eating poorly and making up excuses.
A relative of mine was using sema and encouraged me to give it a shot. For the first half year, the difference in my cravings was unreal!! I began dealing with some mental health stuff. I dropped about 25 pounds in those first six months.
Since the start of 2025, I cut out all junk food and started eating healthy homemade meals, avoided sugary drinks (except for the occasional celebratory cocktail!
), and I've been working out every day. I have lost about 25 lbs since really committing to this in January. I still go out to restaurants sometimes & am definitely not perfect! Also, I have gotten my period every month for the last 5 months- the first time since I was a kid!!
And wow, I’m super proud of myself!! I genuinely feel like myself again… maybe for the first time ever?? I'm totally changing my lifestyle & I'm excited to see where I go from here!
I'm not perfect & still struggle. This medication definitely isn't a quick fix, and it really takes work and commitment. It's hard for me to notice a change when I look in the mirror, but my partner took a photo of me tonight that made me really proud & I wanted to share.
Thanks for listening!
