I began using sema last June. I have really had a hard time thanks to my PCOS the last few years, only getting a period once a year or so and gaining weight like crazy. Also, my mental state was at its lowest. Hearing from the doctors that my odds of getting pregnant were not good and that I was likely headed for a diabetes diagnosis, I felt completely trapped. I dealt with it by eating poorly and making up excuses.

A relative of mine was using sema and encouraged me to give it a shot. For the first half year, the difference in my cravings was unreal!! I began dealing with some mental health stuff. I dropped about 25 pounds in those first six months.

Since the start of 2025, I cut out all junk food and started eating healthy homemade meals, avoided sugary drinks (except for the occasional celebratory cocktail! 😜), and I've been working out every day. I have lost about 25 lbs since really committing to this in January. I still go out to restaurants sometimes & am definitely not perfect! Also, I have gotten my period every month for the last 5 months- the first time since I was a kid!! 🎉

And wow, I’m super proud of myself!! I genuinely feel like myself again… maybe for the first time ever?? I'm totally changing my lifestyle & I'm excited to see where I go from here!

I'm not perfect & still struggle. This medication definitely isn't a quick fix, and it really takes work and commitment. It's hard for me to notice a change when I look in the mirror, but my partner took a photo of me tonight that made me really proud & I wanted to share. 🥹

Thanks for listening!

Thanks for posting! Just a reminder that we don't allow discussion of non-FDA approved versions of semaglutide, or selling/offering to sell any meds, including in private messages. Don't ask for or respond to any PMs offering these things, they aren't endorsed by the sub.

If you're new here, you might want to check out the . This is just to add to the discussion, not discourage it.

You look great but what I notice most is how happy you seem when you talk about it. That's awesome and you should be proud of what you've done. Keep it up. I have only lost 15 pounds since the beginning of the year and have about 30 more to go. I haven't picked a goal weight yet though. I'll decide when I'm closer. I just want to encourage you to keep working out. It's so good for you! Physically and mentally. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Your transformation is incredible!!! That second picture is unbelievable!!! You are so young and it's great you are doing this now. Keep going, girl.

It doesn’t matter your age or starting weight, if you truly want a better life, this medicine, Semaglutide is not a miracle drug, but it kind of is!!!

I’m 69 years old and have always been a size 0-2, maybe a 4 as I got older. Then old age hit and I gained weight. I slowly went from 118 to 168 on my 5‘3“ frame.

Just took my first shot of Semaglutide a few hours ago to begin my weight loss journey, then I took a nap. I stayed up all night waiting for the FedEx delivery of my meds. Because of scoliosis, my 5‘3“ frame has shrunk to 4 foot 11, so that extra weight is really hard to deal with.

I was so shocked by your transformation I had to say something. You look great. Keep up the good work. I know you will and I’ll try to share my journey too. I’m so glad to be part of the generation using Semaglutide!

Wow, congrats!!! How do people lose so much weight so fast!?!?

It's different for everyone, but for me it was a combo of the meds helping with the cravings, and then really buckling down and making lifestyle changes. No quick fix!

Best of luck! I hope it works out for you. I am on month 15 and am doing better than ever. Even my diabetes is under control.

For those wondering how to maximize the effects of any GLP-1 medication, I suggest:

* Tracking food intake
* Intermittent fasting - delaying breakfast, no late night snacking.
* Incorporate more walking every day
* Calming your nervous system with relaxation exercises.
* Focus on what your body can DO instead of how it LOOKS.

Freezer bags, desiccant packs, insulated storage would knock out half your worries. Probably excessive and not needed but if it gives peace of mind, none are pricey. By the time you're prepared for apocalypse-level peptide preservation, obesity probably isn't the concern anymore.
