Thanks everyone! I appreciate the kind words. For those asking about workouts, I try to do some 15-minute dumbbell exercises most days. Found some free videos online, nothing fancy. Just trying to keep moving.
Awesome! I'll look into that, I also got some dumbbells recently off of Amazon. Thanks!

Planned to taper off tirz once I hit goal. Quit nicotine easy in the last weeks after trying countless times before—this med made that happen. Emotional bluntness is slight but easy trade-off. So many parts of my life improved at once that I'm thinking about microdosing instead of stopping. Weird and unexpected stuff happening.

The daily weigh and trend-tracking with a hard ceiling rather than a target number is the right approach when medical context is in the picture. CHF means the scale tells a different story than body composition and the 5-unit ceiling is a clinical number, not a progress marker. The OP's 'changes without the scale moving' experience is actually the version CHF patients often see first - different tracking approach makes sense.

15-minute dumbbell sessions 3 or 4 times a week is honestly enough to protect lean mass during a deficit - consistency matters more than duration. Thanks for answering that, it's helpful to know the workout piece doesn't have to be intense to work alongside the medication.

The DEXA revealing 4 lbs of fat lost while gaining muscle during a scale stall is the perfect example of why the number alone doesn't tell the story. The face and clothes signaling change while the scale holds is the thing people miss. DEXA as the actual checkpoint is worth the investment when you suspect this is happening.

Same experience here, honestly.
Gained and lost significant amounts throughout my life, more than once, same cycle as what you're describing.

Not happening this time on the dual-action medication though.

My undergarments feel loose. Moved into smaller pants. Bras and tops haven't budged in size though.

Not sure what's driving that, but you're definitely not alone in this.

My height's close to yours too, just under 5'4, and I started around the weight you did. Remember being stuck feeling that way for ages, then all of a sudden needing to drop multiple sizes back to back, actually bought a pair of jeans one size down to wear later on and ended up skipping right past that size, jumping from a 22 straight to a 16. Women's clothing sizing is also all over the map even within one store, and honestly the order things come off in isn't up to us, it just goes however it goes, personally I was hoping my belly would shrink first like most women want, but instead lost my chest and rear before anything else, ha. That paper-towel-roll comparison someone brought up earlier fits well, and it helps to remember this medication class tends to burn through the deeper visceral fat before the surface layer, so your looks won't shift dramatically until that outer layer starts going too. Stick with it, it'll come!

It'll happen, trust me. My biggest drop came around months 3 and 4, and now at one year on Monjaro I'm 45 lbs down with an A1C of 5.8. My biggest headache has been hauling my big wardrobe to a seamstress to get every single item altered! It's a real struggle.

Only after Mounjaro removed it did I realize how much swelling I was carrying. My face and fingers changed a lot before the scale budged. Biggest surprise: I'm still overweight, yet this past spring I moved house, hauling boxes and furniture up and down stairs, and I wasnt sore afterward. A move like that would normally put me in bed for days, hurting in my back and knees.

I'm in week 3 of mounjaro, and here are my non-scale wins (though I'm 80.6kg now, from 83.8kg). One, more energy: I couldnt do pickleball twice a week besides my one weekly tennis session, but now it's one tennis and 3-4 pickleball. Two, better mood. Three, I used to get a new pimple every week and now none show up. Four, with my home sugar test kit I can check randomly, and my mornings went from 112-125 mgdl to 98-109 mgdl. I have PCOS and plan to start trying for a baby about half a year out, at goal weight, so I hope mounjaro helps regulate my period and ovulation!
