Down 50 lbs, almost a year on GLP-1!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
I'm trying not to overthink it. The holidays have me eating just because the food is there, even without hunger. Should settle down once I'm back to work and my normal routine on Monday.

Pardon the question, but was a full year really the timeline for just 23.5 lbs? You look incredible, seriously, but I've read that some folks drop 20 in five months.

The running progression is real - I started with short walks and now I'm doing 5Ks without even thinking about it. A year on GLP-1 does something different to your relationship with exercise. It stops feeling like punishment and starts feeling like something you actually want.

Got diagnosed with that anhedonia thing too. My doc didn't realize I'd been on semaglutide until I mentioned it at an appointment, then everything clicked into place. Rough year dealing with it.

Exactly the same here, down about 50 in a year. And the maintaining piece you mention is what people don't talk about enough - getting there is one thing, holding it is where the real protocol work starts.

The 190 to 138 result and the mirror still showing the old version is the dysmorphia piece that therapy is actually well-suited for - the brain doesn't update the body image automatically with the scale. A year on GLP-1 plus working with a therapist is the combination that eventually closes that gap. The moment of giving yourself credit for what you've done is worth sitting with.

Definitely keep the water intake up and stay in a calorie deficit. This isn't some magic fix, still requires real effort, but don't stress, it'll come. Everybody's timeline looks different.

Maybe so. But for me it's more of a tool to overhaul everything, not just fewer calories, but cleaner eating and way more exercise too. Hoping by the time I hit goal weight, this new way of living just sticks permanently.

Thank you, that genuinely means the world to me.
And believe me, if this worked for me, it'll work for you too. Recall feeling totally overwhelmed early on, wondering if I'd ever genuinely get here.

On calories, I've stayed around 1500-1700 daily on average, recalculating my TDEE regularly as my weight shifted throughout. Since I weighed considerably more at the start, my deficit ran bigger naturally back then versus now, despite eating a similar amount these days.

Also focused on building habits I could genuinely sustain long term rather than going to extremes.

Exercise-wise, nothing intense at the outset. Mostly walking early on, just finding ways to move more throughout the day. As weight dropped and energy climbed, staying active got progressively easier and honestly more fun.

That's wild! I've barely dropped anything myself, but at least the binge eating's stopped completely. Can't go any higher on the dose, it wipes me out for days if I try. Clothes fit better though, just hoping my body catches up eventually. Feels like it's confused honestly. Used to eat so much more before all this.

Reading this made me feel completely understood. Started out at a 50H cup. Down 170 lbs and now wearing a 36C, first time in thirty years I've bought a bra with just a single hook and eye closure! My back pain's completely gone and I'm off pain medication entirely, so every bit of it was worth it. Might treat myself to some cosmetic work around the holidays.
