Down 80lbs - Diet is KEY!

Honestly, I think diet and some exercise are essential! The meds just make it easier to stick to the diet. I didn't start working out until late last year! I was eating around 1,000 calories daily, and resisted tempting snacks by telling myself they were extra calories I didn't need! I treated myself occasionally, but got right back on track afterward! Giving up sweets and fast food was a must. I also wrote my weight on my mirror every couple weeks to track my progress.

Hi everyone! Just a friendly reminder about the rules. No discussing or sourcing unapproved meds, and definitely no selling anything. Be careful about DMs offering such things, since we don't endorse them.

You look incredible! I'm starting tomorrow, and I'm also a size 18. How tall are you, if you don't mind me asking?

You look wonderful!

I might get pushback for this, but 1000 calories is probably too low, particularly if you're active. Most plans suggest 1200 to achieve a healthy deficit for gradual weight loss.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing! I've been on for a month, lost about 10lbs, but felt discouraged. You've convinced me to keep at it!

Congratulations, you look amazing!! Have you experienced any hair loss or thinning? I'm scared to start because of that. Any tips besides protein?

You look great! Can I ask what your starting weight was? I'm the same height and pants size now. I lift weights, so the weight might be different. My goal is to reach 200 and go from there.

Edit: Also, any loose skin?? We have similar builds!

This is an incredible transformation! I'm 6 weeks on .5 and hoping to see weight loss like this (I work out 5 days a week, so I can't add more exercise). When did you start seeing results?

Blair You're correct. Severely restricting calories can lead to nutrient deficiencies and muscle loss. A balanced approach with adequate protein is always best.

It's interesting how semaglutide affects everyone differently. I know someone whose diet is already super clean and they still saw a huge difference just from the medication curbing appetite. They run regularly and lift weights too, but could never shift the weight before!

I have been wondering what to eat. I have seen people say protein, but I am getting sick of protein shakes. Does anyone have any meal ideas?

Kim1993: I saw someone else suggest scrambled eggs with feta and spinach, plus a piece of sourdough toast for breakfast. Quick and easy!
