Expired Pen? Keep it or toss it?

Just a couple things to keep in mind:

- I'm using a small dose primarily for my endometriosis. Some initial research suggests it could help, so I'm giving it a shot.

- The liquid inside is see-through. I know that if it's cloudy, it's no good.

- It's been kept in the fridge the whole time!

- I know what the manufacturers say about not being able to promise results after 56 days or whatever. However, they also advise against microdosing, and here I am doing that anyway.

- These pens cost me €100 apiece no matter the dosage. Should I just grab the next dosage up and try to stretch it out? Screw the 56 days if I can.

I'm not sure where that 56-day thing comes from, but my pharmacist told me that as long as the liquid is clear and doesn't have anything floating in it, it's fine. I'm going with that. Hasn't been an issue so far.

Keep it in the fridge and keep using it. At the very least, it might lose some of its effectiveness, but I would absolutely use it. They're so expensive!

I've used open opened for 8 months, and it was fine. Just make sure you toss the needles after each use, cap them, and keep it in the fridge.

I agree with

That's what I'm thinking, too. I'm just using such a tiny dose.

I always make sure to get extra needles when I pick up my pen. There's always a little bit left over, and I hate wasting it.

I have a 4mg pen and dose 0.25mg until the pen is empty. It lasts about 16 weeks. The pharmacist said it was okay as long as it's clear. People do this with insulin too.
This is exactly what I do!

Just be mindful of potential side effects as you increase your dosage. Some people experience restless legs at higher doses. If that happens, talk to your doctor about possible solutions.

had a compounded vial from a supplier with L-carnitine added — every shot left me with awful body aches and nasty sinus stuff for 5-6 days. fifth pin was the same. switched to a different brand and by week 3, cleared right up. never found solid info on that mix.
