I really wanted to share my story because I'm still amazed by where I am. I was so optimistic when I began Mounjaro, but I also worried it wouldn't work for me after reading some posts here. I never imagined I'd have the experience I'm having. I've had 13 injections (around 3 months), and I've lost about 41 pounds as of this morning!

The list of non-scale victories is long.
Some highlights include improved cholesterol levels, normal blood pressure, being able to bend over, looser fitting pants, better sleep, being able to cross my legs, increased energy, improved self-esteem, and reduced body inflammation.

Some downsides that I have noticed are feeling cold all the time and how sitting on my tailbone is uncomfortable, lol.

Here are some tips that have helped me with rapid weight loss:
  • Eat and drink at room temperature before your injection.
  • Keep electrolytes handy and drink plenty of water.
  • Eat whole foods - many side effects seem to come from unhealthy food choices.
  • Take a good quality collagen supplement at the beginning.
  • Consume lots of healthy protein.
  • Track and weigh everything you eat.
  • Get some exercise every day - I aim for at least 10,000 steps at the track.
  • I take a ton of supplements daily (CoQ10, Magnesium, Zinc, Iron, Calcium, Vitamins A, B, C, D, Potassium, Probiotics, Omega 3).
I'm incredibly grateful for my time on Mounjaro. I've worked hard for my results, and Mounjaro has assisted me, and I've learned a lot!

Sorry for the long post, but thanks for reading! I wish you the best experience possible!

Hey, thanks for the long post! It was really helpful. I'm currently on 2.5 mg, and I'm hoping my doctor will increase it to 5 mg soon. My appetite has returned, and my blood sugar levels have gone up.

Losing 41 lbs in 3 months is amazing! The cold thing is definitely real - I keep a blanket with me everywhere now, haha. Your tips are great, especially about eating clean. Eating greasy food while on this med is a mistake you only make once.

I'm one week into this, and I'm already amazed at how different and easy it feels.

I've tried and failed countless times. My body always seems to fight against me. It's incredibly difficult to lose weight after you've had it for a while. But now, it feels different.

(And vitD probably isn't required. I live up in northern Sweden, and even I get enough sunlight to make enough lol.)

Totally agree with this! I had a really bad experience when I ate a burger with fries on this med, i will stick to chicken and rice now haha

I switched to Mounjaro a few weeks ago and I can't believe how much it has helped my ADHD. I haven't needed my meds for over a month now. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm celebrating my anniversary! I started my Mounjaro shots on January 5th, 2025. I lost 25KG and I feel amazing. I am so grateful for this medication!

What really helped me on my journey:
  • Tracking my food intake
  • Intermittent fasting by not eating after dinner and delaying breakfast
  • Incorporating more walking
  • Calming my nervous system with meditation
  • Being okay with MY personal journey

Down 135 total, 116 since starting Mounjaro. slowed down recently but still seeing movement. only 25 to go. for anyone hesitating - this has transformed my whole life, especially the health improvements

For me mounjaro just changed everything about how i move through the day. The appetite thing alone is wild, but its so much more than that. food just doesn't have the same pull it used to and that mental shift has been the biggest thing for me honestly.

The itchy red lumps at the injection site are a common early complaint on official Mounjaro pens - usually tied to the pen needle or injection technique. Switching needle type or gauge resolves it for most people. The gray insulin-style needles produce less trauma at the site, especially for people with more sensitive skin. Rotating injection sites also helps prevent buildup. Once you find the combo that works for your skin the irritation generally stops.

The inflammation reduction alongside the weight loss is what surprises people most. Joint comfort, skin changes, energy - they connect back to it. When someone already has solid habits and the food noise just lifts, it removes friction rather than building willpower from scratch. That's a different experience than it is for people who were eating reactively - the effect is cleaner.

370 to 312 through extreme measures is exactly the cycle GLP-1s interrupt - the effort-to-result ratio that made the previous attempts unsustainable is what the medication resets, not willpower. 235 to 194 on Mounjaro with 24 left to goal is the second chapter after the hard work that never quite paid off at the dose it deserved. The difference between maintaining 312 through restriction and maintaining 194 through a changed hunger signal is the part that doesn't show in the before-and-after photo but is probably the bigger win.
