Reta not workin'?

Hey everyone, I'm a 21-year-old college student. I'm not in the best shape, around 6' and 265 lbs. I've been on Retatrutide for two weeks. The first week was great; I felt it working at 500 mcgs every three days. Now I'm at 1mg weekly, and I don't feel much. My food cravings are returning, and my appetite isn't suppressed. I mostly eat protein and fats, avoiding carbs because I do drink. Any advice on dosage or lifestyle changes?

500mcg every 3 days is more than 1mg a week... Try spacing your doses more frequently, like twice a week, and up the dose until you notice appetite reduction.

You seem like a nice young man, so I hope I don't sound too harsh. But maybe try some lifestyle changes before messing with your body at 21. Think of your body as a temple that can fix itself if you give it the right direction. Some folks need meds, but you probably don't. Maybe you just need some discipline, like most of us. Instead of meds, maybe try joining a gym and hanging around healthy people. Or, if you're lacking discipline, join the army or do a hard physical job for a year. You'd be a different person after that!

I've had mixed experiences with GLP-1s. While the appetite suppression was beneficial, the gastrointestinal side effects were a major issue. Both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide disrupted my digestive system. My wife has been using Retatrutide for a few months and has seen very positive results. I'm looking to reduce some stubborn belly fat, so I've decided to try it out. After two weeks, I've lost about 8 pounds with zero adverse effects. It is still in clinical trials, but I am ordering it.

Hey Salad_Loss, that's awesome! What dose did you start with to see that kind of weight loss? Any other sides like low energy or anything? How's it going now that you've been on it longer?

I started with 1mg. I've had bad experiences with other GLP-1 drugs, so I wanted to start slow. After a week, I increased it to 2 mg and have been on that dose since. I'm planning to go to 3 mg with my next injection. I initially experienced low energy, but it has since gone away. No insomnia or brain fog. The weight loss has been impressive. I haven't weighed myself recently, but my pants are looser, and I'm back in a size 34.

Thanks for the info

I'm thinking about reta over tirz. Since I'm almost 60 just looking for a little extra help. From what I've seen reta seems to be great at this.

My wife had amazing results, like 60lbs in 8 months or something similar. Very few stomach issues. But the glucagon part of reta gives me some anxiety/insomnia, unfortunately. Even at low doses. I just need to drop like 20lbs. I got here without GLP-1s but a little appetite suppression is nice.

Day-one response and consistent weekly results until this week is actually a very good track record. One week without loss isn't a stall in any meaningful sense - the body is adjusting to current conditions. Track the pattern over the next 2-3 weeks before making any protocol changes.

70 kg at 176cm and 15% body fat with a goal of 10-12% is a recomposition target rather than weight loss. Reta at that starting point is a different use case than the weight loss goals most people here are working toward. How are you using it - what protocol and dose?

Do you notice a metabolism bump from reta even without major appetite suppression? Just started myself and haven't seen much suppression at 3mg, hoping I won't need some absurd dose to feel anything.

Three weeks in is genuinely too soon to expect much of anything, most people don't notice real change until reaching the 1.0 mark, so just keep working up the dose and give it a solid few months before judging whether it's actually doing anything.

Hasn't done much for me either honestly. Bumping the dose to 10mg starting next month, hoping that's what finally gets things moving. Planning to keep climbing until I hit the max dose, and fingers crossed retatrutide gets FDA approval soon without the price being outrageous.

What was your actual regimen? Maybe I'm just younger, but didn't notice a thing running 5mg three days weekly. How long before the energy boost kicked in for you?

Despite the post title suggesting the third compound isn't doing anything, going from 320 down to 285 over three or four months is genuinely solid, close to eleven percent of total body weight in a pretty short window.
A more useful answer would need your age, height, where you're hoping to end up, plus the timing of your last dose increase.

Curious whether your weight's actually still moving now that hunger's picked back up, going up, down, or holding steady?

Starting at 320 pounds, unless you're exceptionally tall with substantial muscle mass, you're presumably dealing with a fairly significant weight issue, so figuring this out matters for continued progress toward whatever target makes sense, along with better long-term health outcomes. My guess is the increased hunger is simply a normal, unavoidable response to the weight already lost, and given you've dropped around ten percent of your body weight, your daily energy needs will have dropped by a hundred-plus calories too. Standard response at a moderate amount is typically to increase further, which sounds like you've already done, though I can't tell if that bump was recent. You'll eventually need vials with a higher concentration per milliliter if staying at the higher end of dosing. Larger vials would give you several doses at that higher level. Can't quite tell if y

58, male, started the third compound at half a milligram two weeks back. Went in low since new supplements tend to upset my stomach. Didn't pick up on any real hunger reduction or anything else that first week. Bumped to 1mg on week two and still don't feel much different. Have started eating cleaner, prioritizing protein, and forcing myself to skip snacking.

Leaning toward pushing up to 2mg for the next dose.

Thoughts?
