Skin Tightening Tips, Pls?

Hoping to get some suggestions for how to tighten up loose skin post-weight loss. I know exercise helps, but I'm really looking for specific advice for my stomach, arms, and around the neckline. I'm not getting any younger, so the skin just isn't as elastic as it used to be! Trying to avoid surgery if I can. Thanks!

I'm right there with you on the loose skin struggle.

I've seen small improvements with a few things I've added, maybe 5-10% better. But every little bit counts, you know?

Along with keeping up with hydration and workouts, I've added these to my routine, and they seem to help lessen the crepey look:

1. Ending showers with a quick blast of cold water: Switching from warm to cold may help decrease irritation and firm up skin some.

2. Collagen, Vitamin C, and Hyaluronic Acid supplements: These appear to work together to support skin health in different ways.

3. Moisturize and protect from the sun daily: Lotion plus sunscreen, even on cloudy days.

4. Copper peptide serums: I haven't tried the injections. But there are copper peptide serums you can put on your skin. I just get the peptide serums from different brands and use them after showering.

I hope that helps!

I'm hoping the small improvements will add up over time.

Has anyone had success with peptide use?

I have rosacea. Would copper peptide help with that? I was hoping there was a good neck cream I could start with. My arms need exercise and my stomach is the worst. Still have about 25lbs to lose, so I know it won't get better without some work.

Well, I've been on KLOW - it's got 4 peptides in it: GHK-Cu, KPV, BPC-157, and TB500. It's supposed to help with healing. I can't say for sure it'll stop loose skin or fix it... but it's helped my pain, and some people say their skin's better while taking it. I'm still losing weight, so maybe it's helping? Fingers crossed.

I have rosacea, and it makes it a little better. It takes time. Loose skin is best prevented, but it's hard to avoid if you lose a lot of weight.

I once saw someone mention a prescription-strength azelaic acid for rosacea. I also had a treatment from a compound pharmacy that helped with hot flashes, so I'd guess they could help with rosacea too.

For me, losing weight slowly helped my skin. I've dropped about 45 pounds over almost a year. I've also been doing klow for a while, plus some NAD+ recently. I use body lotion after showering most days. I also used a fat dissolver a couple of times near my armpits for extra fat, it says it tightens the skin while dissolving fat.

Someone told me about a nephrologist who says that fasting, like several days in a row, helps you lose weight AND get rid of loose skin. If that worked for everyone, no one would get surgery. I didn't get loose skin from my weight loss, but I didn't do anything special to avoid it.

Dr. Fung (and others who talk about fasting) often recommend fasting as a way to prevent loose skin when losing weight. It's supposed to be better than just eating very few calories. I don't know if it's really been tested or not.

The idea is that after so many hours without food, your body starts 'autophagy.' The longer you go between eating, the more your body has to find protein from wherever it can (like your skin). They might also say that eating bigger meals less often is better than lots of small meals, because that's how people used to live when they might not eat for days, then eat a lot after hunting.

But, lowering protein intake goes against the usual advice we get on GLPs: 'eat lots of protein so you don't lose muscle.' And skin and muscles have different stuff in them. Plus, we don't know how GLP-1 and GIP affect autophagy.

Maybe you could try eating just one or two meals a day (if it's okay with you) and eating enough protein, instead of snacking on protein shakes all day.
