Smart Scale Upgrade - Worth it?

What are your thoughts on those smart scales? My current one is a decade old, made by a popular brand. Considering buying a new one that measures all sorts of things. Worth it, or stick with what I have?

I always think more info is better. I've had a decent one for ages. Was thinking about getting a new one myself. That model you mentioned looks interesting.

I found a discussion that talked about taking their scale to a DEXA scan and comparing the results. Apparently, it was fairly spot on, especially the newer models with multiple points of contact.

I personally enjoy all the data a smart scale provides. If you're scale is that old, it seems like a fairly reasonable cost to be able to track all the metrics in your health path. Mine is only 4ish years old so I've been holding off. But it keeps going in and out of my shopping cart, especially when retailers try to make us think items are 'on sale'!

I have one of those models and I'm pretty happy with it. The measurements are fairly stable and seem to line up with how I feel, and the readings from the fancy machine at my doctor's office. The app gives you a lot of helpful ways to look at the data. (I also have their wristband. Having both gives you even more information.)

I just got one for the holidays. I like it. Any of the big brands are likely good. Just find a good price and don't expect it to be perfectly accurate. It's for tracking trends.

I went with a particular brand as I already had their blood pressure and sleep trackers. It just made sense to add their scale to the mix. If I didn't, I'd probably go with the brand TitrationTechnician mentioned if starting new.

These scales aren't as precise as a proper body composition scan. But if they measure consistently, you can still get a good sense of whether you're improving or declining. Even if the numbers aren't perfect, the trends are still meaningful.

Thanks everyone! I like all the data, even if it's not 100% accurate. My current scale isn't giving me reliable info. I'm really trying to not lose muscle while on my GLP-1, especially as I get older. It sounds like it's worth investing a bit to upgrade.

I have that particular model that was mentioned. I've only had it a short time. No issues so far, but I don't have anything to compare it to. I used to just have a basic scale that only measured weight.

I have the older model mentioned at the top. I only pay attention to my weight now. I haven't weighed myself in months, I just look in the mirror now. It's more accurate, haha.

You're right, the mirror probably is more accurate. But I like seeing the charts and graphs! It makes me happy, and I don't like knowing my current scale is just guessing the other stats.

I've had an older scale for years. I bought the model mentioned at the top during a sale and returned it after a week. I weigh myself every morning, first thing. The values from that scale were all over the place. My muscle mass changed by like, 8 pounds in a week! I'm sticking with my cheap older scale.

My current scale is good for weight. The other measurements are just random numbers. I use the body scanner at my gym instead.

Which model do you have? Mine is the same, the body fat is just a guess. I was thinking about getting one of the newer models that are supposed to be better.
