Went through a seven-month stretch of losing that wrapped up just over a year back. Climbed all the way up to 10mg weekly on tirz eventually, but stayed at that top amount for only three doses total. Most of the actual loss happened over four months at the 4mg and 6mg range. Went from a starting weight of 280 down to 218. Chose to settle into maintenance there, about 18lbs above the original stretch goal, partly betting the body would adapt better and resist regain with a little extra cushion left. Titrated back down to 4mg and has held there for thirteen months now, staying within about 5lbs of that 218 target the whole time.
Sleep disturbances at 8mg-plus weren't worth it, and wanted to give skin and metabolism some time to catch up too. There's a theory floating around that the body's weight setpoint can slowly shift lower over time, which would make long-term maintenance easier. Fully expecting to stay on some dose of this medication class indefinitely, but keeping that dose as low as realistically possible matters, definitely not looking to go back to double digits on tirz if avoidable. More of a marathon mindset than a sprint here.
Just a month ago started layering in reta alongside the maintenance tirz amount, hoping it might eventually take over some of that role.
