Suddenly... normal?!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
tons of things could be playing a role in gaining. are you in a deficit? did you recalculate your tdee? what dose and is it time to go up? exercise and strength training? enough protein and fiber? bloodwork show any nutrient gaps? tracking blood sugar? talked to your doc?

I really have to focus on 'what people think of me is none of my business.' But it's hard. Got skinny-shamed by a client the other day. There's no win—overweight? Fat phobia. Lose weight? 'Are you cheating, are you sick?'

First dose and already getting the signal - that's the response this medication is designed for.

that immediate first-shot response is the experience that hooks people. feeling it at the starting dose when you expected to wait for 5mg is genuinely surprising. knowing the difference between satisfied and actually hungry is the recalibration that takes weeks to fully trust.

the food noise going quiet after shots 1 and 2 and then mild food noise returning by shot 3 is the early plateau that catches people - the first hits tend to be stronger and then it normalizes as the body adjusts. the 'suddenly normal' feeling the OP has from the very first shot is the strongest version and it usually settles to something a bit less dramatic after a few doses. still going in the right direction though.

the vasovagal-before-bowel-movement presentation is worth distinguishing from other GI symptoms because the mechanism is different - it is a reflex response to the urge rather than a direct medication effect, and managing it involves relaxation technique rather than dietary change. the gallbladder mention is worth taking seriously; GLP-1 does affect bile release patterns and gallstones are an elevated risk with rapid weight loss, so symptoms that include upper right quadrant discomfort warrant imaging
